I was diagnosed with m.s. in 1992. I was then diagnosed with a peroneal and tibial neuropathy in 1996. Since 1996, I have had muscle weakness in my legs, and trouble with my balance. I had oth hips replaced in 2000. Any advice? Could a homeopath help. I'd like to get any feedback.

Yes.
In 1981 I was given six months to live as I lay in hospital dying. I suffered with MS. I could not talk or walk. I had constant painful muscle spasms and no feeling in other parts of my body. etc. etc. etc.......... My vision was dark with double vision. I was getting allergic to everything and lived with air purifiers and sometimes oxygen. I was determined to fight and live. I used homeopathy, diet, supplements and psychology. I know the diet, supplement etc would not work without homeopathy. Homeopathy was like a switch that turned on my vital force. It opened up the channel for my body to heal. I slowly slowly improved. I took speak therapy to learn to taught again and learnt to walk again. My children helped, they pushed and pulled me. Well now twenty years later I live a normal life. The last of the MS symptoms left 1 1/2 years ago. I now have some skin rashes, but that is the final healing area in homeopathy. I made up my mind to be healthy and literally told my body to respond to treatment and heal. I am so thankful for the life I have now. |

That's a wonderful testimony RWF. I think this would be encouraging for Gernot too.
ITs important to be given the correct homeopathic remedy or series of remedies which are similimum. BUt that's just the beginning. Also important is the rest of the management. In RWF's case it was psychotherapy, diet etc. All the best Martha. I hope you get on track soon. Its also necessary to keep your hopes alive, the course of treatment will have a lot of ups and downs. Warm regards, doctorleela

My thoughts on MS. I did some research on MS a few years ago. There are some out there who believe that some cases of MS are misdiagnosed and are really Lyme's disease. A friend developed MS and went to the Mayo clinic and they found dead lyme cells in him but continued with the MS diagnosis. It is a real controversy. Also...there has been found a link between a dramatic change in one's diet and MS...the Guam study ...When the military moved there...the locals began to have a higher percentage of MS. These were people who got jobs at the military base and began eating a different food than they were brought up on. You can find more information on internet on both these subjects.

Hi Carol,
Interesting. I was just reading a couple of days ago - about how MS seems to be on the rise in recent years.....since Aspartame has been consumed by masses of people. It's always important to look at things which might be exacerbating symptoms. Martha, do you drink or eat anything with Aspartame (aka Nutra Sweet, Canderel, etc)?? If so - please cut it out of the diet - as it may be a contributing factor and perhaps there will be changes for the better after a bit. Sincerely, Lisa

I just found this note in my files...don't know where it came from..it said if steroid treatment for MS makes patient worse instead of better(in a superficial sense, of course)then one should suspect Lyme's disease.

Martha,
With the help of some of the good people here I put my husband w/MS on a remedy last summer. It had a very positive effect on his emotional state. His endurance and strength also improved. Unfortunately, while he didn't disagree with the changes I'd point out (for him that was an admission) he wouldn't continue and proceeded to undergo aggressive medical treatment. Ironically, it was the homepathy that had actually opened him up to the possiblility of finally taking any action. Physically, he is weaker now which may be because of the medical treatments, but, as time has passed I've noticed some positive mental changes. He is simply a more "normal" person. For example, there was a nervous gesture he would make with both hands while staring into space - that's history. He was also addicted to watching certain film videos over and over, night after night - no more. He is also not as angry or paranoid as he once was. My advice is definitely to see a homeopath, in person. Good luck. Contenta |

Carol,
The Lyme idea is interesting since shortly before my husband's diagnosis we'd spent the summer in a wooded area. Fifteen years later though it looks like MS to me, but then, I don't know how Lyme disease affects one long term. He has also regularly had mercury fillings put in his teeth. That is something else that could be involved. Vaccinations are another possibility. One woman whose daughter has a severe case of MS remembers taking her and her little friend for their vaccinations. They both had reactions. Now, as adults, they both are in the same condition with MS. Contenta |
