As a midwife I see all kinds of rashes on babies. The ladies that said it will go away are correct. I do remind my clients to be sure to use a baby safe detergent and to rinse everything twice. The other thing to remember is that your baby is up against you and touching your clothing too, as well as your sheets and towels and stuff. It is a good idea to use the same baby safe detergent on all of these things. This can really make a difference in skin conditions of the mewborn.
Good luck and congratulations
Michelle

These pimples are very normal and very common. Both my kids had them. It took them a few months to get rid of them. Not saying yours will take that long, but don't get scared if it takes longer. It is from the overwhelming amounts of estrogen in your body that are passed on to your baby. That is what the pediatrician said. The definately should not be messed with, because popping them will only make them sore, not dissapear. If you have pictures to be done, it is safe to use a natural cream for acne, but only as necessary and be sure that it doesn't have any irritants in it like tea tree oil.

Why suppress with even a natural cream, like calendula? Resist the urge to do this. Here is a fact to help you do this:

When skin symptoms are suppressed, we often see a manifestation of symptoms like asthma arise.

Babies develop all kinds of skin symptoms--rashes, pimples, flakiness, etc. etc. They are common--the skin has to do this to adjust to its new environment, and to begin to function properly. If this is truly only a few pimples, LEAVE THEM ALONE!! Especially if their only effect is aesthetic.

Is it really worth it, in your opinion, to risk more problematic symptoms and clear skin?
