Taste sour after drinking
Combined rubrics; fear examination; failure
?Reproaches herself (may not be the best rubric to use)

Some ideas: nux-v is possible (3 under sour taste; also under av sour). Lyc is a second choice, bar-s is third, and phos is fourth. More history will help to confirm or rule out any or all of these--

Brief suggestions / ideas only:

nux-v: perfectionistic, competitive, impatient, driven, may also have a fear of failure

lyc: cowardice/fear of failure with compensatory egotism, ambition (usually not the same degree of impatience as nux)

bar-s: feel small, less capable relative to others, possibly ridiculed / laughed at; can be critical of oneself and others (similarities to lycopodium, but more the feeling of incapacity relative to others)

phos: not 'grounded', many fears; sympathetic /affectionate

Good luck--

For Examination Fear one should have a look at Gels. and Arg-n. that are the standard two remedies but might not be the right ones. Perhaps you could find out why she fear examinstions and what she feels and this could point to the basic delusion she has behind this fear.

How are arg-n and gels reconciled with the sour taste in the mouth causing her to spit out water? This is a unique, characteristic symptom, and neither arg-n, gels or sil are known for this.

Hi,

Dear David A. Johnson.

Yes, Silica covers Mouth, Water tastes bad.

What about the following rubrics?

MIND - FEAR - failure, of - examinations; in
MIND - COMPANY - desire for
MOUTH - TASTE - bad - water, tastes
SLEEP - NEED OF SLEEP - great
STOMACH - THIRST

The most probable remedy seems to be Silica followed by Arsenicum. But there are not enough symptoms to really be possible repertorize the case. Can you give some more symptoms, modalities, etc?

Best wishes,

Thanks Dinis--

I hadn't seen that, so I agree silica needs to be added to the mix. I was trying to make the point that gels and arg-n may not fully match, but in any case more info is definitely needed.

Regards,
Dave

Hi Mose,

The symptom as I understood it is that the sour taste is related to drinking water, but it's not apparent at other times. However, I agree the rubrics you listed may fit, so again more information is necessary. In my opinion, if arg-n is correct, then she should be demonstrating other arg-n fears beyond test-taking--narrow places, high, public speaking, etc. (HDRTARIQ, can you answer these questions?!)

Regards,
Dave
