Carole - I am getting the stupid flying message all across the page - what the heck is that about??
Also, on a totally different topic - what type of vitamin C do you think is best. I think youmentioned it recently but couldn't find it.

Hi Barb,
Re: the Vitamin C The usual vitamin c is ascorbic acid and may irritate the stomach in some persons causing diarrhea or in dosages that are too high. To offset this acidity take calcium at the same time as ascorbic acid (Vit C), or Ester C (brand name but usually expensive), or calcium ascorbate (a combination of ascorbic acid and calcium which is non acid.) Also children require extra calcium during infections and fever. It prevents the second teeth developing in the gums from being destroyed by a fever. The drug store sucking kind of Vitamin C usually is Sodium Ascorbate - which I don't usually recommend, especially if nat mur is the acute remedy. Infections that you give ars alb for also shouldn't take sour foods/acid so you could use non acid Vit c in the from of calcium ascorbate. Take care, Carole |

Do you happen to know if the powdered vit c...is sodium ascorbate? My label fell off. I'm on nat mure and my symptoms were acting like antidote time..and the only thing different I did was drink a diet coke caffeine free and put this powdered vit c in my juice.

Sorry Carol but I couldn't help but giggle when I read your reply. I am probably about 6,000 miles away from you and the label sure didn't drop onto my floor to read. Vit C powder can be in many forms. Straight ascorbic acid, multimineral ascorbate powder, calcium ascorbate or sodium acorbate or buffered vit C etc. If you have been taking high doses of vit C then it should be reduced slowly or you will induce a vit c deficiency as the body gets used to it. In your case if you feel the vit c is antidoting the remedy then chances are that it may well be doing that. With nat mur avoid alcohol, coffee, cold food, herring, honey, milk, pork, salt, sour foods, vinegar. So from this list either sodium ascorbate or ascorbic acid will not be suitable to take in most cases. I hope this helps, Take care Carole |
