I tried the printer on Landscape and the Computer setting on Landscape, then both settings on Portrait, then one on landscape and the other on portrait. All achieved the same result - a grid and it's titles printed correctly, but all the other info running across it perpendicularly and overprinted.
If anyone has any more tips on printing a landscape document please post.

Hallo Anna
I just test-printed one page and there was no problem on my printer.
I just opened the document, clicked on the printer function and then a window opens with the printer-settings. For the test, I only printed out the first page, which worked without any problem.
It must be something wrong with the settings of your computer.
I will make enquiries and let you know as soon as I know.

Thanks to everyone who offered ideas. I have to work out a problem with the equipment here since there is nothing wrong with the document.
My computer does not automatically select the correct settings for documents, and for example, it always selects letter size as the default paper size, which I have to change to A4 every time I want to print something. When I change from portrait [default] to landscape, it automatically alters it back.
The printer [HP Laser Jet IIP plus] is much older than the computer but is a reliable old workhorse. There is a compatible driver on the computer for the printer, which I use.
It is an Adobe document, and I have Adobe reader, but thanks for that idea too KSF.

My German edition of the TT 1846 arrived today.

Thanks for the index, Hans! I don't know when I'll learn it all, but at least I've got it now, thanks to what you've been sharing.

Plodding on with my studies
