Hi Everyone,
I thought this was VERY interesting. It makes me wonder if I am being "trained properly" after reading this most interesting article!!! I am shelling out some BIG money for Homeopathic Academy. This article inspires me to look at my teachers in a new and curious light. Read on.... Love, Smiles [ADMIN: - Sorry, the article you posted is copyright material, and should not be reproduced without permission of Homeopathic Links, which you did not state you had. It has therefore been removed, as has the libellous word in your title. P.S.:
I don't think GV is "one or the other", as you described. He's not a power hungry greek bastard, and he's not a genius reincarnation of Hahnemann. I won't allow you to "frame" the discussion in this way, because its really kind of nonsensical. Also: I assumed you were re-publishing the LINKS article, but I now see you're publishing one of Peter Morrel's interviews. So my warning above may not apply--sorry! George is correct about certain things he says--that allopathic medicine is destructive to people, and often makes healing very difficult for homeopathy to do... that homeopathy is simply not being helped by the meagre funding it has received compared to the funding allopathic institutions get (and yet people demand more research has to be done before homeopathy is considered legitimate) etc. etc. However, he spends a lot of time aggrandising himself and putting down other contributors to homeopathic philosophy and practice. What he is is actually a little too generalized in his conclusions, somewhat presumptive of other peoples' ability to practice, forgetful of his own reception when he started to publish 30 or 40 years ago, and a little jealous that others' ideas are just as well-received as his were. He is also a little bit ignorant of some powerful political realities--so he feels he can say what he does because he fails to see the damaging repercussions of his outcry to the larger homeopathic community. That being said, he contributed a lot to homeopathy with his school, and "cost" homeopathy just as much as he claims Scholten and Sankaran do, when he published his speculations on the "essences" of materia medica. Sadly, he still feels the need to kowtow to the medical establishment--I personally feel that is the most detrimental thing anyone in homeopathy can do, as it basically belittles our healing art and aggrandises one which is not very good. I wish he would just practice and teach and continue to prepare people to be very good practitioners--good results are what matter; who cares what conventional medical doctors and medical schools think when our patients get well, and know the truth? He's just one of many, many people who have contributed something to the art and science of homeopathy. I think he wants us to think of him as the ONLY one...but its not going to happen, because it just isn't true. Divina [ 14 January 2002: Message edited by: Divina ]

FELIX, I am glad you enjoyed the article !!!!!
Divina! I can frame anything, any way I want! And you can't stop me! And of course, I was laughing while I wrote it! No bad intentions and no "slots" involoved - and if the title gets a few people to read a little more than usual, it makes perfect sense ! I was looking for a quick smile - not a non-sensical slotting! Anyway, I think you wrote a great post. Well said! Maybe Mr. Vithoulkas believes that the only way that this "Divine Art" will permeate the planet on any mainstream level is whith working with the MD's of the world as much as possible, almost on a "grassroots" level, if you will - starting with on a "one-on-one" basis like he actually did in the 70's. Maybe he believes that by doing this he sacrifices a lot in the hope of instilling the art of homeopathy into the "scientific community" in a way in which the results can't be denied. Just this reporter's inexperienced opinion. Anyway, I will be meeting with Mr. Vithoulkas soon and I will ask personally ask about this stuff. I'll be posting again in about a week! If you get to Greek Town on the Danforth, mention my name and you will be treated very well !!!!! See ya'................... ![]()

Oh My God, Lisa. I didn't really like you at first, know I LOVE you - and you can never say anything to make me not love you again !!!!!!!
The Danforth is in Toronto, Canada. It was a little inside nudge for the wonderful (and sometimes sternly serious) Divina who thinks I was serious about slotting Vithoulkas into either "Power Hungry Greek Bastard or Genius".. Tornoto has an incredible Greek town on the Danforth where I lived for 5 years. It is where I really got into lay Homeopathy before I started going to Homeopathic Academy. As for GREECE young lady. I LOVE Greece. I lived in greece for 7 years. On Mykonos, Syros, Santorini, Patmos and a little while on Tinos. I have the most beautiful property on the face of the earth on Mykonos - overlooking the entire white-washed village of Mykonos. You see the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean and in your direct view are the islands of Tinos, Syros and Delos. It is UNBELIEVABLE. Maybe I'll build a hotel or Homeoapthic Academy! I speak fluent Greek and, at the time, I was Executive Translator to a high ranking Greek Government Official - all this right out of college. His Honorable Mr. X ( I will call him for the sake of anonymity) (the official I translated for) knew Vithoulkas and had Vithoulkas treat himself and his family. They bacame friends of a good sort. We would go to Alonissos now and again where I would travel with him in an official capacaty. I had some of the most hilarious times EVER with these two guys. In the Tavernas we would be on the floor laughing hysterically (tears streaming from my eyes), about ALL things - political and not, etc.. etc.. One night I think we broke 1,000 plates. Vithoulkas started. Everyone followed suit, it was anarchy. And we originally went for just a little "meze". 5 hours later I still couldn't stop the tears. I am going to go back to Alonissos and live soon. I haven't decided whether to finish out the next two years of homeopathic academy here, or just leave in a couple of months and go live on Alonissos for a few years seeing George Vithoulkas everyday, in the down season, and learning HIS homeopathy. Sitting inside a little taverna while the wind howls outside, rain beating down on the streets of the little island like beeds of melencholy. Inside, steaming, wild, island grown chamomile tea fills the air and permeates every particle of your being. I lay back in the chair and listen with undivided attention as Vithoulkas, the artist, speaks from the deepest parts of his knowing. Every word carrying with it an understanding without words. A one on one learning experience unduplicatable anywhere. The pictures on the wall watch as George Vithoulkas brightens the path of another with the entire light of his soul. Think I'm nuts? I make it happen! I know his heart. The question is, do I want to do this? I'll keep you posted on what I decide and maybe my posts will start coming from Alonissos... Greece calls me every minute of everyday. I walk around here and go through the motions of my life. But my heart and soul are always sailing around the sun-drenched shores of Mykonos and Santorini. Well, I'm leaving now for a week. I'll get to posting when back, WITH LOVE AND BIG GREEK KISSES... OOOOOOOOOHHHPAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!! Smiles ![]() [ 14 January 2002: Message edited by: smiles ]
