Hi guys - a friend asked me to post and ask which of these two would be more recommended - cara pro or macrep?

she actually doesn't practice classical homeopathy but has one of the EDS machines (we argue about this constantly )

I don't know why she is looking into theses programs since she doesn't rep anyway - but I told her I'd ask.

Well I use CaraPro which is the cheapest out of the lot and does the trick.Mac Rep is far more expensive and has lots of cases, hournals, reference material that you may never have time to get round to reading anyway!!

I agree with you about the machines as it is not what I call homeopathy!! Maybe your friend is now having doubts herself!!

I use CARA professional. After researching the available software, I felt CARA gave me more bang for the buck. I've been very happy with it. But it really depends on what she wants to do with the software. What are her expectations. Does she want it because she doesn't understand how to reportorize a case and thinks the software will help her? If so, it won't help. She really needs to understand how to analyze and reportorize a case before any of the software will be of use to her.

She might also want to look at the stripped down home versions of of software, such as the one Dr. MAS recommended by McReportory. CARA also has CARA Light and there are others, too. There are also on-line versions that she could try before investing in her own copy.

Thanks Jonh, for editing the post.

Mac-Repertory=> It is very difficult to send it through email. Yesterday my colleagues of WHCC (World Homeopathic Computer Club) sent the MacRepertory to three members. It took hours and hours. My executive members were remained engaged to accomplish that task.

The normal procedure is to send it on CD via postal services. Nowadays here postal services for some foreign countries are not working properly.

However, WHCC will definitely send this repertory to those members who are interested. WHCC will send this rep one by one through email. For this purpose you have to show patience.

WHCC is providing all kind of facilities free of charge. This repertory is costly but WHCC is sending this rep free but HHBB members have to bear postal expenditures plus CD writing charges.

Please intimate on the following email address too.

I don't understand. I have been told that the Macrepertory program is very expensive. How can you send the CD to people without charge? Don't you have to pay the authors of the software?

Dr.Mas,
It certainly is very generous of your group to provide MacRep software. I wonder how it can be done via email? I have MacRep and Radar and both programs require a "dongle" (key) on the computer in order to be able to run them. Are you sending the contents of the demo CD called The Gift of Homeopathy that is available free from Kent Homeopathics or the entire MacRep program? Are Reference Works and Zizia included? That would be huge to download! If it is the free demo, it might be less costly for your organization and those who have to pay for connect time, to order it directly from KHA.

I'm not familiar with the demo. Does it have all those lovely graphs, too?
