regarding one or two pills - for our purposes here it doesn't really matter

regarding water potencies, many prescribers use only dry doses - many use water potencies.

Hopwe you are feeling better soon

Thank you Barb,

You've been a big help as always. CSCS, I'm sorry we haven't explained things suitably considering you're new to homeopathy. People who post here usually know quite a bit about it; so, we say, "Take Hepar in water" without even thinking.

Most people really do just let the pellets melt in their mouths. There's nothing wrong with this. But what we often find is that a remedy works for awhile and then wears off and has to be repeated. When repeating a remedy, you get better results if you put it in water, because you can "pound" the bottle a few times, as Barb said, and by doing so, make the remedy stronger and more active. I clearly remember one time having a gum abscess and taking Silica 200 for it, until the 200 potency wore off. I went up to the next potency and it didn't work--until, that is, I put it in water; then it worked like a charm. So there's something special about water.
It doesn't mean that you can't take the remedy "dry", though, if that's what you'd prefer.

If you have more questions, let us know.

Snoopy

The only unusual type of symptom I could see is that in spite of having a sore throat you like to eat salt chips to alleviate it (are these the same as potato chips?) which I would find rough against an inflamed throat. Would anyone else find this unusual? Is it like having an irritation, or an itch that you have to scratch to make it feel better, even thought it's sore?

I agree with Chris, it seems peculiar to have a sore throat amel by salty food. The only rubric I could find that was close was "Throat pain amel salt water" - med.

I was struck by that too - but is it the salt or the crunchiness and scrathy factor of the chips. Whenever I get a sore throat I desire tacos because as Chris suggested it is like scrathing an itch a lach symptom yes?

it's because of the salt.

my mom (who's a nurse) always recommends i gargle with salt-water when my throat is sore. and it actually works. but salt-water isn't as pleasant as salt crisps (potato chips)

i've been doing the hepar sulph 30c, two pellets dissolved, in a 590ml water bottle, since last evening. i felt an immediate change, as if my throat had hardened up or become stronger, but i still had coughs and this morning i'm still coughing a little. but i suppose it _is_ getting better.

i take it should still be drinking a little when i cough? until it goes away?

No!

Don't re-dose if there is improvement!!! This is when you stop taking the remedy or your cause problems .

Only re-dose (and make sure you bang the bottle a few times before a dose) IF the symptoms go back to where they were before you took the first dose - or worsen.

Glad you are feeling a bit better.
