Hello loves,

Last spring my daughter developed a case of itchy eyes and would constantly rub her eyelids, pulling the outer corners to the point that they were bruised. This went on for a long time until, on the advice of a homeo I gave Ars, there were other symptoms including an obession with being poisoned that pointed to the remedy - well within a few days the eye itching, fear of poisoning, nightmares and frequent waking were gone.

Just the other day Rachel started itching her eyes again - the same way as before. The other symptoms are still gone. She started this after a mild cold (if I remember correctly it was after a cold that it sytarted the first time too). She is also picking at her nose alot and just kind of fiddling with her face - it made me think of the rubric FACE - Sensation of cobwebs - This was MY thought though, she didn't say this or anythikng like it. Sooooo, would it be a bad idea to try another dose of ars and see what it does or do I really need to post everything again???

Snoopy, in Chronic Diseases Hahn rants and raves passionately against topical applications - it's unambiguous.

Barb, I advise taking Rachel's current case back to the original homoeopath who made the good prescription.

Don't think the cobweb's idea is appropriate Barb.

I think a more appropriate rubric would be:
Gestures Grasping, nose, lips at
or something like that,

Like Anna said if this problem is recurrent, she may be having an allergy tendency and should be given a constitutional instead for the longterm.

Ars may have been acutely indicated then, so if you really want to give her an acute this time, you'll have to find out the striking symptoms of this episode. No point connecting it to the past.

Bit in these cases the constitutional works best.

I think it is always worth trying the last remedy that worked before going to all the trouble of analysing the case again. One dose only though - don't want to confuse things if it isn't the right remedy.

The cobwebs idea is very creative - I like that style of approaching the case. Is that what it looks like she is doing, picking cobwebs off her face?

I would try it if it worked before. You can also try those eye drops by Boiron called Optique that work like a charm--I love them!

Well she is still at it. Yes, it reminds me of when I am cleaning the garage or something where there are spider webs and if I get some on me then the rest of the day I feel like they are on my face and brush at my face a lot - that is what she is doing. Constantly brushing at her face around her mouth with the backs of her fingers, rubbing and pulling at her upper eyelids (she looks like a drug addict at the end of the day because her lids bvecome discolored from all the rubbing. She has her fingers in her nose a lot too.

She still wets the bed every night.

Is a very introspective and self conscious child. Worries a lot and is fearful at night. Is very creative with imaginative play and drawing. She is an empathetic child and picks up on the feelings of others. Her weak points are letters and numbers. She is a lefty.

any ideas?

Dear Barb,

Causticum children are very sympathetic; caust. also has inflamation of the eyelids. Hope this helps. Did you try repeating Ars.?

Please, Barb, I am already living with Contenta's husband, thank you very much, so you will have to keep the furniture mover, I'm sorry!

So, the Caust. didn't work a year ago--and so far the Ars. has done nothing? And your daughter still has inflamed eyelids? Okay, it all started with a cold, and I take it the cold went away, and now her eyelids are inflamed. Do her eyes itch? Have you tried those Optique eye drops by Boiron? They are quite marvelous! What makes her better or worse--cold applications? Warm applications? How's her thirst? Different from usual? Is there an aggravation time? How is she reacting to light, noise, conversation, touch--pressure, etc.? Have her food desires/aversions changed? How about her body temperature, any difference? What about perspiration--any change with that? Has her tongue changed color? Is there an odor worthy of mention--breath, etc.? Has her complexion changed? Facial expression? Mood?

With regard to her hands--I can understand that she'd be rubbing her eyes, but it's hard to figure out what's causing her to touch her cheeks, nose, etc. Is it that she has restless hands? Is it part of an over-all restlessness that's part of the illness? What exactly is her energy state? With regard to her nose, is she actually boring into her nose or scratching or pulling her nose? Does it itch like her eyes?
Does her whole face itch?

Well, I've certainly given you more than enough questions to answer!

Good luck with David and the Kali Carb--I've got my fingers crossed!
