I'm editing this letter now, I wrote it thinking I was answering a post from Merl because it ended with something like, "All the best, Merl" and I thought that meant: All the best, Merl (!!!) So, I thought it was Merl that was humbly bowing out. Now I see that it's you! Anyway, keep that in mind as you read this post. (Oy vey!) * * * Before you humbly bow out, I'll give you an example of what's tricky about a cancer case. If a person has breast cancer that spreads to the bone, a homeopath who was never taught how to manage a cancer case may not know that the first remedy to consider is still the breast cancer remedy--for instance, Phytolacca--and not a bone cancer remedy. Also, the biggest mistake would be to prescribe on the personality and not on the top layer, which would be the cancer. "Oh, Henrietta is a perfect Nat-mur! We'll give her Nat-mur 200!" It won't touch the cancer. In your case, I think it's a good sign that the personality and pathology could very well be the same remedy, and the other thing is, people are afraid to give carcinosin beause of the way it "sounds"; but it's just a vibration. If it matches the case then we shouldn't avoid it because the sound of it makes us uncomfortable or wary. Other case management techniques for cancer cases: you must be prepared to do a lot of zig-zag prescribing, treat anything that comes up which is draining the person--pain, anorexia, anything that is taking the patient down, because they can't afford to lose their energy. Just like the first prescription in a cancer case isn't a cancer remedy, it's an "ailments from bad news" remedy, because the news all by itself is the equivalent of a head injury! You have to treat the emotional shock. If the person goes into despair, you have to treat that. Also, there's nutritional and herbal support that will help the remedy work better. For instance, there are now Aloe Vera drinks (must be cold pressed and not pasturized) that, an ounce or 2 twice a day, will really act against the cancer! Flax seed oil, 2 tablespoons mixed with cottage cheese a day, acts against cancer. A blood-cleansing herbal comination like Red Clover Combination (see www.herbsfirst.com) also increases the person's chance of recovery; so, the homeopath needs to know all these things. He needs to know that, for example, one-dose-high-and-wait is not a method that will benefit most cancer patients, because of all the intercurrent acute remedies that usually need to be given. You may have this kind of situation: A person is on Carc. LM/1 daily, when a pain develops. The homeopath takes the case of the pain, the modalities, etc., gives the pain remedy in a 30C or 200C, eradicates the pain, and then goes back to the Carc. LM/1. So, if you'd like to know more, you can order Murphy's "Cancer Research" tapes (vols. 1 and 2) at www.minimum.com. Let us know what's going on, for Pete's sake! Hi Barb,
I'm not too bad. Had the CAT scan 10 days ago. No news yet. We're going with the no news is good news theory. (since right now I see no benefit to hearing bad news, I'll wait for the doctor to call me.) I've changed my diet totally. That's being a challenge. I still have days filled with fear, but more of my time is spent trying to get my body in the best shape it can be in to begin to go back towards healthy. What I've decided to do is have the surgery and then schedule a trip after the end of June to see a homeopath in the UK. Not sure who as of yet. My daughter's already promised to make the trip with me. If we go together, we'll stay a few days. It'll be loads of fun. Thanks to all of you, really. You are such a wonderful support system. Merl |

Good to hear from you. Please let us know when you are due to go in for your surgery - hey maybe with the diet changes you won't need it after all. Are you following the Gerson diet? The changes in Dr Clarkes book? The cottage cheese/flax? I am just curious. How is the zapper working out for you? I know Lisa has the utmost confidence in her homeopath in the UK so keep her in mind. I hope you and your daughter will be able to enjoy yourselves when you go. Warmest Wishes Barb

Hi All,
Just wanted to let you all know that I go in for surgery in the AM. I am currently doing very well. I have some new information to share health wise. Unfortunately, I only have a few hours left and must get some sleep. So, I'll have to keep you in suspense for a few days at least (probably won't be home for 3-4). I'm giving my daughter my sign on info, so she can contact you if I need help. Night now and thanks again for everything (esp. your good wishes) Merl |

Wishing you all the best of luck, Merl. You will be much on my mind. Let us know how you are as soon as you can.

Hi all,
Just wanted you to know that I made it through the surgery. Been tough going for the past 2 weeks. Don't have final pathology report yet, but they felt, at the time of surgery, that they "got it all" (found it very early). I'm far from my old self yet. Only able to stay out of bed for a few minutes at a time. I'm much better than I was 3-4 days ago, though. I'm quite anxious to tell you all that I discovered about a week before the surgery (and continuing after the surgery), but it will require much more energy to type and keep up with than I have yet. Will get to it as soon as I can. Didn't want to leave you all hanging until then. Will write soon, Merl |

Dear Merl
I am soo glad you posted. I having been thinking of you and sending you prayers and healing thoughts. It is normal to feel like you have been run over by a truck after what you have been through. Maybe Snoops or Dr Leela can recommend something to speed the recovery. Make sure you have excellent nutrition during the healing period and let others take care of you. You have "teased" us twice with the upcoming news so please don't keep us in the dark for long. Warmly Barb
