My 7 month old son has eczema. Can anyone advise me whether homeopathy can help ease the discomfort and treat the condition when he is so young. If so, what remedies are available. I have tried the suggestions from the doctors (emollient /aqueous creams, steroid creams) but nothing seems to work for more than a week. He is too young to take antihisamines and when an outbreak occurs, his itching causes broken sleep for all of us. We dress him in cotton clothing as much as possible and use non biological detergents to wash his clothes. I don't use any bubble bath or soap in his bath either. If anyone has any suggestions or success stories, I would appreciate it if you could reply.
Thank you - A distressed new mum |

Dear Andrea,
Yes, homeopathy can help; But much information is needed , so as to individualize your child; The characteristics will guide to the remedy choice. If you are willing to answer much questioning, then start by posting as much information concerning your son and his health background; We will clarify your information with further questioning. Thank you. |

Thank you Ricky, I have tried E45 cream but it makes his skin more angry. I was hoping that I wouldnt have to resort to wet wrapping as the little monster doesnt keep still for very long. Thank you for your time.

Dear new mom,
I have four children and it took me till my last one to find they all have a problem with cows milk. My daughter after a long time suffering found it was lactose intolerance. With my last child we found there shortly he was too. BUT HE ALSO HAD ECZEMA! Was out of the lactose free milk for a few days needing to get to the BIG STORE for it, his RASH HAD LIGHTENED. Now we have found he cannot have anything even with whey in it. Milk also seems to be the cause of both my daughters white heads in their cheeks and arms and mine on the back of my thighs I always thought was from fat! A long time of trial and error leads me to these things. My son now has NO RASH WHAT SO EVER. Good luck. |

thank you for your reply tmbray.
I dont think my sons eczema is caused by a lactose intolerance as we tried him on Soya milk for a while. It did not seem to make a difference to his skin. There could be some other common ingredient though, because he didnt get the rash until a week after I finished breastfeeding (4 weeks)We are in the process of finding this out. Thank you again. |

FIRST you must look at the food and water he takes including that from his mother if breastfed
what the food is cooked in etc etc Soya Milk is bad for the Thyroid and heavy in Aluminium .........,many Baby Milk powders are also heavy in Aluminium Processed foods the same Clear the picture by feeding organic fruit and veg and Malvern water Many creams contain Liquid Parafin this is a known cause of worse skin trouble also wash powders and synthetic fibres in clothes |

Andrea
An eczama reaction has nothing to do with lactose intolerance. Usually it is a result of an inability to breakdown protiens. These protiens are easliy carried throught the blood and even cross into the milk of a lactating mother. They trigger an aoutoimmune response, hence your problem. It makes no sense for a mammal to have milk past infancy especially if it is coming from a different species. My son had this problem when he was two, he was responding to wheat, citrus, dairy and eggs. He came down with a stomach virus and could not eat and also purged his systom. His eczema cleared. With this self induced elimination diet we easily deduced the above. He had taken a remedy that kept him comfortable comfortable, however, an innocuous patch always existed. He simply out grew his food sensitivities with the exception of dairy. It is important from a homeopathic point of view not to give him steriods for the inflammation or antihistamines because these will drive his condition inward and will cause problems later on. Homeopathy can be a big help. Please reread John Stantons post. |

Thank you all for your time.
I have sent a message to JohnStanton with information regarding my sons condition and have not had a response as yet. I have always given him organic babyfood or made my own food for him using organic veg and fruit. I use a water filter when making his feeds and so do not use water straight from the tap. His skin is quite clear at the moment as the doctor has prescribed another type of steroid cream which I only had to use for a couple of days. I think that the rash was going on its own, as I have mentioned before the rash clears within a week and reappears a week later. I will be happy to answer any further questions to help as I dont want to rely on steroids to keep the rash at bay. |

PLEASE DO NOT USE STEROID CREAMS they cause long term damage
If Exzema only started after breastfeeding you have your answer WE ARE WHAT WE EAT or what we cook it in Check everything including what the water co treat the water with E45 and so many Emollient creams have Petroleum products in them or Paraffin and these cause trouble and flare up skin worse |
