Claudio,

There is much to talk about in regard to the phosphorus person/personality/disposition/constitution. One way to look at it is to study the KEYNOTES of the phosphorus remedy, but to this we must add a thorough understanding of the phosphorous dispostion. I promised you a list of modalities/keynotes, and here it is (though, additions can be made, of course, and I, like you, hope others will contribute). Following that is my observations and understandings of the phosphorus person's nature.

PHOSPHORUS (by Kevin Seymour)

"<"/Worse by:

...<environmental stimulii; the senses are all VERY easily exciteable: e.g., to touch, odor, noise, music, piano playing, light, odors, thunderstorms, lightening, etc.
...<strong odors
...<going into cold air from warm room
...<touch, pressure, very sensitive to touch (except, can be "better by pressure" for certain physical symptoms such as pain in chest)
...<pressure of clothing
...<before sleep (see: better AFTER sleep)
...<lying on left side
...<warm food or drink (except, hot drinks may make gasey stomach pains better)
...<twilight until midnight; evening
...<wind, thunder, thunderstorms, lightening, any weather changes
...<by lifting arms
...<by putting hands in water, by washing clothes
...<walking fast, physical exertion, motion, walking
...<sitting
...<mental exertion

">"/Better by:

...>by company (REQUIRE company)
...>reassurance (REQUIRE reassurance to allay fears and anxiety)
...>AFTER sleep
...>in a warm room
...>washing with cold water
...>lying on right side or back (except lying on back may worsen diarrhea)
...>in the dark
...>wrapping up the head
...>cold drinks and food

Other materia medica notes:

The mind is quite excitable and impressionable, all senses heightened and easily irritated. Thirst, but drinks don't quench this thirst, and even cold water (the preference) is vomited as soon as reachs stomach. Eats often, even during the night or soon after a meal. A bit more left-sided than right-sided.
Great tiredness after mental OR physical exertion. Dryness, e.g., of throat or cough, with great thirst where drinking does NOT relieve the dryness, and dryness is worsened by talking (can see a reluctance of the Phos to talk in these circumstances). May like salt, spicy foods, cold drinks, ice cream. Typically can be upset by hot foods and drinks, and milk. Often considered for children who have had a quick growth spurt.

Disposition:

Phos are among the nicest people on earth, very loving and handsome, with bright eyes, and as capable of giving love as they are needful of receiving love. A childlikeness extends into adulthood, because the phosphorus person appears to lack that aspect of ego that normally allows the separation (and, hence, protection of) a person from the outside world. Study Jungian psychology to understand this point; the phos person is like the child prior to age 6 or 7; he or she doesn't separate or differentiate him/herself from the world; this is often called a lack of ego boundaries; one may see this as a lack of defense mechanisms against the many environmental stimuli of the world, and hence, can explain the Phos' extreme sensitiveness to all external stimuli, not only light, noise, odors, and such, but also the Phos is very sensitive to beauty, brutality, love, hostility, meaness, etc- all of these things the Phos absorbs, childlike, straight into his or her soul and is, as a result, GREATLY and OVERLY affected by them. It is an enduring naivette, an innocense, an openess, and a sensitiveness that is unique to the Phos adult (many of the other constitutional types have become to varying degrees hardened to external stimulit as they age), certainly, but also these sensitiveness is particular to the Phos child who must be protected from an overload of external stimuli and given much careful gentle love and attention. Peacefulness and good relationships within the family are vital to a Phos child, who quickly picks up on and too closely and readily absorbs any negativity in his or her environment; the Phos child more than any other constitutional type cannot separate him/herself from any anger within the family, for example. Similarly, positive excitements such a carnival, a party, a holiday celebration, sports activities, and similar events full of excitement and stimulii, can overstimulate the Phos child. Both positive and negative excitement can easily lead to fear and anxiety in the Phos child.
They require the company of people, and respond beautiful and require reassurance to ease their anxieties. They respond very well to reassurance, and have a need to please others as much as they themselves enjoy being pleased. Phos has a deep love/need for activity, society, and interesting endeavors, and this need often exceeds his/her physical and mental stamina; these children and adults need to be cautioned frequently to get enough rest, as it is the Phos nature to strive to do so much that they very often use up all their energies. It is not hyperactivity, but rather an especial ability to love and embrace life. (Although, please note that "hyperactive" children might be Phos, if the wealth/totality of symptoms apply.) Phos does NOT hold grudges, as a rule. Creative, dramatic. Can find "responsibilities" challenging; however, the healthy Phos is so generous (with self, money, love, etc) that you often forgive any flightiness s/he is prone to!! Phos has NO ego problem and is not prideful, but s/he might tend to exaggerate for dramatic effect!! Easily affectionate and compassionate, but can be demanding in nature and due to his/her lack of ego/boundaries, s/he can act as if they are the center of the universe and the most important being created... but a healthy Phos is so charming and fun to be with that usually her or his demands are happily met by his or her friends. Again, very capable of active loving and being compassionate towards others, and enjoys pleasing others and requires pleasure/attention in return. These traits, along with Phos' GREAT sensitivity to all external impressions and stimuli, along with easy fatique from mental and physical exertion cannot be overstated!! They are the essence of the Phos nature. Also, should a normally happy interactive Phos become apathetic and dull, one must worry and see what is wrong!! If Phos gets little or no attention, s/he may indeed become apathetic. Phos REQUIRES company and reassurance and interactions with people in order to thrive. It is only when these needs are NOT met that a Phos may show apathy; apathy is NOT a normal trait for a Phos, but rather a sign or something amiss.

Hi Kevin,

your very long reply needs time for an answer especially for an inexpert like I am.
I will check firstly if we are speaking of the same topic. My impression is that I intended a discussion about a person classified as “Phosphoric bio-type” and, if I understand correctly, you speak of a person that needs Phosphorus as medicine.
Is it true?
If this is true respective keynotes are not fully comparable although much of them are common.

Kevin,

an expert of: Istituto di Studi di Medicina Omeopatica should reply, better than me, to your list of keynotes.
