I am a 47 year old woman.
I have occasional severe headaches, which I believe are a type of migraine. A day or two before the actual pain begins, I feel slightly dizzy and foggy. It's difficult to concentrate. The pain usually wakes me at night and is at the base of my skull. It is a gripping, dull pain. It radiates up the left side of my head and over my left eye. I usually have nausea and sometimes vomiting. If I can fall asleep for an hour or so this usually helps. A heating pad on the back of my neck helps. Cool air also makes me feel better. I feel very hot all over and sweat profusely. The pain is aggravated by noise and light.

I am the type of person who wants everything that I do to be perfect, which is of course, impossible. I also worry a lot. That all contributes to my headaches I'm sure.
I have tried Bryonia 30c and that does seem to help some, but I thought another remedy might be more appropriate. My experience with homeopathy is rather limited.
Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.

Reminder, Best not to take while head pain is occurring ; may give great aggravation. Take immediately after an episode (when the headache has gone).

If remedy is correct, then the recurrance of the headache shall be either eliminated ,less frequent, or of less intensity when occurs again.
.The response you have will determine next step.I would expect a good sleep right after remedy or uninterrupted sleep the next evening (if the remedy is correct).

If you have "ARSENICUM" 30C, then you may try it; But "KALI-ARS" appears to be a better fit.

No alcohol and watch cold foods ( may antidote or impede response).

Another question.

Do any of your extremities get cold or remain cold? (please explain)

Thank you so much for your suggestion to use Kali Ars. I have just gotten over a terrible headache,so it will be a good time to give it a try.

I feel best in cool, cloudy weather. Hot weather, loud noise and bright light bother me.
I'm not taking any medication.
The headaches do seem to occur most often after I've been stressed or have gotten extremely tired.
I do often have acne flare-ups around the same time as the headaches.
Other than that, there doesn't seem to be any pattern.
Thanks again!

Dear Meridith,

1 dose of "KALI ARSENICUM" 30C. No more . Wait. Post back with response or lack of response.

If you would answer some questions;

What type of weather do you personally feel better in? (hot, dry, rainy, cold, cloudy, ...etc)

Do you have any sensitivities? (light, heat, cold, noise,screaming,...etc)

Any skin eruptions (ANY AT ALL)?

Are you using any medications for anything? (Please explain)

Are the head pains associated with your menstal cycle (of course if you are female)?

Is there any rhyme or reason to the headaches? Cyclic? After eating a certain substance ? ANYTHING?

At this point,though, I suggest "KALI-ARS"
.

From the description, worse in the heat, better in cool dry weather, involving the left eye and the perfectionism I cannot see any relation to Arsenicum, in whatever form.
Among the kalis, only the hydriodicum and the sulphuricum are better from cool weather and the muriaticum is the only one with vomiting during the headache. I agree it may be Kali, but I would also consider one of the Natrum salts. Do you strive for perfectionism for yourself or to make a good impression on others?

One of my friends has similar symptons and migraine. We have tried KALI-ARS and SANG without success. Anter many hours of investigations we are now coming to the conclusion that the remedy should be IRIS. IRIS should be the remedy for "weekend migrain" that are typical after a stressfull week. We have not yet tried it.
