Patients of mine who have had cortisone injections into joints have ended up with irreversible lumps. It helps the pain initially but that's it.

Ricky has rightly pointed out that it helps only initially. It does not sort out the problem in any way. But the damage it can do is very much.

Hi, Yvonne
I seem to be in the habit of throwing in non-homoeopathic advice on the BBoard, but I did want to pass on to you my experience with the "raw" form of hypericum. I'm not dure what that rotator cuff injury actually is, but if nerves are involved, then Hypericum can be more useful than Arnica. At any rate, a few months ago I painfully pinched a nerve in my lower thoracic region, and none of my homoeopathics seemed to do a thing. After a couple miserable days, I decided to try topically using some "Hypericum infused oil" my son had given me (the stuff I have is part of an aromatherapy line, but it seems common in health food and new age shops here in Australia). It's the essence in an oil base, meant only for external use. I rubbed a fingertip of it over the sore area on going to bed, and again in the middle of the night. That night I could already see a small improvement. Next day I used it maybe three times altogether -- and by late in the day things were dramatically better. THe pain was completely gone a day later!
May be worth a try -- and it can't hurt

Thank you all - I'm off to the Health food store. I'm sending my daughter off to college tomorrow with a kit for the ringworm she gets (dating a wrestler) and the shoulder problem. Sepia 200, Arnica and (we'll try) the Hypericum oil. Anything else?

Arnica is good to have along for future injuries, but if it is not helping she should not keep taking it. That is true of any remedy, because it can actually cause symptoms. This is called "proving the remedy." They will stop when she stops taking the remedy.
