i have developed a mild case of labyrinthitis and, according to my copy of Lockie, the best remedy for me would be Conium, which i do not have and cannot easily obtain. can anyone tell me if there is anything complementary to Conium? i am presently taking Phosphorus as the next best choice. thank you.

Dear Jessie,

Compare with; AETHUSA, OENAN, PHELL., PETROSAL., AMMONIAC, CALC.,GRAPH.,....and I am sure many others.

Do you have a repertory?

What part of "CONIUM"'s characteristics are you trying to be complimentory with.
Treating just a dis-ease name is tricky.
But if you relate the symptoms in which you feel "CON" will work , then it can be less tricky.

If you want to, then post back some or all of the symptoms you need help with.I am sure you will get some ideas here in the forum.

thank you for your prompt response John. i have very limited resources, no repertory, materia medica, etc., only my copy of Lockie's Family Guide to Homeopathy to help me. my dizziness is worst when i lie down, thus my choice of Conium, which i do not have in my very limited home "pharmacy." i am many miles from a practicing homeopath or homeopathic pharmacy. i am looking for something i could take instead of the Conium so i could head this off before it gets worse.

my symptoms are mild dizziness, feeling of light-headedness, mild nausea in afternoon and early evening, made worse by moving about and worst when lying down. if it helps, i am feeling sad about an event and have a generally stressful life, full of major uncertainties.

thank you,

Jessie

Dear Jessie ,

Are these symptoms due to a reaction to an up-coming event? (please explain)

Is the dizziness constant?

Does the dizziness coinside with your menses?

Is the dizziness worse for all bodily movements or just moving the head?

Is there anything that helps relieve the dizziness?

Is there any vomitting?

Do you have any anxiety?

Are you able to eat?

What do you attribute this to?

I will wait your reply.

i don't think they are a reaction, as i clearly recall blowing my nose too hard the day before and feeling my ear "pop."

i've been told by several doctors that i have very narrow eustachian tubes.

i just included my emotional state as further information on my health.

my dizziness is not constant but the feeling of lightheadedness is. not coincident with menses, no vomiting or anxiety (other than my normal life stress), dizziness is relieved by remaining completely motionless, i am unable to say at present whether it occurs with just head motion or whole body motion, i'll keep an eye on it.

are you a physician? either way, thank you for your concern.

Jessie

Dear Jessie,

I am not a physician.

1st choice (if you have it ) - "PULSATILLA"
2nd choice - "SILICA"

If you need anymore help, then post.

Dear Jessie,

If you have "PULSATILLA" , then take 1 dose and wait.

Post if no results. Of course you can post if you have results. That would be good .

Feel free.

Hello John,

took one dose of Pulsatilla 30x almost two hours ago, now getting a feeling of congestion in the affected ear, which makes me think perhaps Belladonna?

i have also noted that it is not whole body movement but head movement that causes the dizziness.

Hi John,

my dizzy spells have decreased and the feeling of congestion is mild and not getting any worse. i can move about with less chance of getting a sudden dizziness but it has not disappeared yet. i experienced no nausea at all today, which is a relief. i still find the dizziness is worse when i lie down.

i would say i am improved overall since taking that one dose of Pulsatilla.

i certainly wish i had whatever resources and experience you called upon to suggest Pulsatilla, which btw isn't even listed as a choice for this in Lockie's book.

i hope someday to live nearer to a homeopath and to join a study group or at least be able to afford some reference books. thank you for your help and concern.

Jessie
