I would appreciate your opinions on my son's condition. He was being treated for six months by a homeopath for a nose polyp, right side only, obstructs breathing most of the time on this side, green discharge, loss of smell and varys in degrees of stuffiness and discharge on both sides from day to day.
He was treated with Lycopodium in potencies from 30c to 1M with changes being seen in the size of the polyp with each dose only to go back to the original size. He was also given Medorrhinum 30c one a day for three days. Very little change seen with the Medorrhinum.
Doctors suggest sugery and believe the polyp developed from an allergy. My son has always had an allergy to the food yeast, being after ingestion of 12 hrs he was in a very negative depressed mood which lasted another 12 and he was fine. He has taken cranosacral therapy a year ago and the yeast allergy seemed to disappear so he ate to his hearts content of junk food (he is 19) shortly after the polyp developed. At this same time he was stressed mentally from school problems. When I recently made the connection that this may be related he stopped using any yeast product. The Lyc now doesn't seem to show any changes in the poly at all. His last does was 30c after the Medorrhinum.
I have questioned the homeopath on the Lyc as from what I have read he doesn't seem to fit the remedy at all.
He is very healthy so few physical symptoms to go on but milk allergy, ear problems in childhood and migranes occassionally (right side).
Mentals are he is a very outgoing person, loves to be with people, he has problems concentrating and does poorly in school although he is quite capable of doing the work he just will not do it, he tends to do only what he wants to do, polite, gets along extremely well with all ages.
He loves to sleep and will sleep till late afternoon, hates to be alone. He does fit some of what I have read on Medorrhinum but is not excessive in any area with the exception of his music but again he is a teenager.
Question: Could this polyp be suceesfully treated with homeopathy to eliminate surgery?
Would the polyp be connected to the yeast allergy re the craniosacral treatments.
Should he give up on remedies for awhile and take more craniosacral treatments.
Seeing another homeopath is not an option as we have few in this area and frankly I have lost confidence as this seemed to be just a hit and miss type of prescribing.
I would greatly appreciate any comments or suggestions as to how to proceed.
Thanks,
Carolyne

This yeast allergy could be from reaction to vaccinations. As Lycopodium did well, except that the polyp returned, I suggest you give him one dose of Sulphur in a 10M potency. Is he overweight, or 'normal' for his age? Your suggestion that he likes to sleep long indicates Sulphur, who can be lazy. If he is also a bit sloppy, you certainly have some strong indications for it. It could be what is called a miasmatic block, which prevents the indicated remedy to really do its work.

Not to barge in your discussions, but I am interested to know if it requires 10M to remove a Miasm Block. Could 200C be sufficient?

He is 5'10" and very thin, slim build although he is muscular and quite strong, he does not have a good appitite, has dark hair and complexion, lots of facial and body hair has had a beard since 15. He is VERY sloppy, very disorganized with papers and just about any thing he owns. He does not have a problem with keeping his body clean but does with whatever he owns eg car, room, school, music.
Question: Would the high dose of sulphur have the effect of regulating the vf back to where the Lyc would again work or does the sulphur itself show aggravations. With the Lyc he would have almost the exact aggravations after every dose. I questioned the homeopath on this as what I have read would suggest the aggravations are of something that has occurred in the past and once they are out they do not come back the same way with another dose. Is this true or is the block preventing this from happening?

Homeodranwer- Lemna m., what an interesting little remedy which could well be useful here. Thanks for introducing me to it.

It is the plant duckweed and I found reference to it in the MM of Boericke, Clarke and Anshutz.

I suggested sulphur 10m because it works deeper than a 200c. Also I am a follower of Kent, who is an advocate of the higher potencies and I ahev seen brilliant results. From what has been said about his VERY sloppy attitude with materials, I think sulphur is indicated very strongly. I would consider Lemna afterwards, as indeed it is having an affinity for the nose.
