even this morning i notice a difference in that i am draining --sinus. i don't want to get my hopes too high on this. i am not crazy about disappointments.

--but the draining is a reminder of what life used to be like prior to everything in my body coming to a screeching halt.

i wonder if any homeopath can confirm that sulfur might be indicated in an inflammatory disorder such as sinus inflammation.

i realize that the answer is that remedies don't go after particular diseases. the remedy is supposed to match the person.

of course this begs the question of why there are so many books that list certain conditions with a short list of remedies that have been known to solve the condition.

Those books may be talking about acute conditions. What you are suffering is a chronic condition: there's a world of difference.

If those books are addressing chronic conditions, they aren't very good books--certainly not books I'd take seriously, nor books I'd recommend to patients.

Sounds to me like you are proving sulphur. But sometimes draining and purging, the kind that can take place with colds, for example, can relieve quite a bit of stress and strain on the body...so it can be helpful and supportive. It's just not very gentle, nor is it always necessary.

Oh yes, regarding this:

Any homeopathic remedy can cure any ailment in any living thing. The Law of Similars must be applied to each case, and the remedy must be homeopathic to the totality of the organism, but that's how it goes.

So, for example, if sulphur is used to treat a patient who needs sulphur and it fits the case, then it will address every symptom in the case, no matter what it is.

i can't believe i am actually saying this but i feel that my IBS is in some type of remission for the first time in 20 years. cetyl myristate was able to put me in a type of very shaky remission for several months but this is a different feeling altogether. it feels like the driving force behind this nightmare has been dealt some type of knock out blow.

i won't know until months down the road but things are different. there is a woman on my IBS forum who was put into remission for 7 years from lycopodium but now she suffers again and the homeopath is struggling with her.

--so i am not going to get over confidant.

i can't figure it out. was it the lycopodium plus the sulphur or was it just the lycopodium that has accomplished this.

the lycopodium did something for me within the first few days -- i just felt different but i started seesawing all over the place.

the sulphur has seemed to wake me up from my severe lethargy. it also seems to have made me feel somewhat normal for the first time in my life. i still have a ways to go for that to happen.

simply incredible.

The cycle of action of Lycopodium, Sulphur, Calc Carb has always been known.
Its difficult to say which one has "done the work". BUt its clear it is the complementary action of both remedies dealing with an underlying miasmatic cause that is helping you.

Its the sequence of remedies you ahve taken that is also relevant to your case progression. I remember you said you took Nux VOmica for the toxic effects of antibiotics. I think your homeoapth is doing a very good job of handling such a deep case.
There is a lot to homeopathy that each of us, even as homeoapths are still in wonder about.

Continue to be hopeful and all the best to you!
