In homeopathy we prescribe for the patient as an individual rather than a disease name so please find a professional classical homeopath who will take a full case history and prescribe on the totality of the symptoms , that is mental, emotional as well as physical. If this is done the side effects of this genetic disease may be minimised.

When some body is saying sickle cell anemia. Then it is understood that he / she is suffering from some symptoms which are the indication of sickle cell anaemic persons. Say if a person say he is suffering from thyphoid disease. Please treat my disease then it is understood that the same person might be suffering from some specific symptoms which are the symptoms of that disease. Like


Face flushed and dull looking
dryness of mouth and tongue
tongue white coated with red tip and margins
loss ofappetite

A homeopathic physician who has no knowledge of diagnosis will go to symptoms. Although Dr. Samuel Hahnemann on so many occasion told us that those who do not have the knowledge of disease and medicine are not homeopath.

An intelligent homoeopath whoo knows the pathognomonic will more precisly take the case and those who have no knowledge of disease will fall himself in stupor questions answers.

Hi colleagues,
Thank you for the information regarding treatment of 'sickle cell" anemia.
Ricky dear, the patient is a 2 year old boy, coming from a very poor illiterate people , living in slums - While agreeing with you that in homoepathy "the patient is treated and not the disease" - WHAT emotional, Mental symtoms can you collect from a patient(2years old) as stated above and the family back ground and past history - totalty ? What all you can see are his physical symtoms and a lab report( which says it is "sickle cell" anemia).
In the event I entirely appriciate and agree with DRMAS that one should have a more rational outlook. I have verified and the physicals tallied with sickle cell anemia. Thank you DRMAS once again-

It is quite possible that the remedy which we are going to prescribe on disease will again come in front after symptoms analysis like Baptisia in typhoid disease.

So lab investigation will reveals certain informations/symptoms of the patient. Now it is the duty of the doctor to find sign and symptoms.

Dear AVPS,
I have a lot of children and even babies imn my practice. I listen to what the parents tell me about the child, enquire about the pregnancy, birth and milestones but most of all I observe the child very carefully at play. I have lots of toys for them to play with. I observe their concentration, whether they want me to play with them, can they play on their own, do they line up bricks, blocks, in a regular pattern or haphazardly. Do they put things away before getting out other toys. I could write a book on this but you get my drift here I am sure. Observation of the patient is soooo important which is the reason I don't prescribe constitutionally online and recommend seeing a local classical homeopath.
