I'm pleased to say that the SEARCH function is now working again for the Discussion Forum.

We have also implemented an update which speeds up display of the BB pages even more - I hope it's noticeable!

Jon Haworth,

You and your team is doing great service to homeopathic community. You provided us a forum where every body is free to express his/her feelings and opinions over homeopathy independently. Keep it up. We are with you.

What I can do for searching for an old member's user name. I do not know her registeration no.

How I could search the user name without user registeration no. Previously it was not working.

There is no simple way - you may email me with the username and I will mail you the number.

Dear Sir,

The search field have some types options like chracter field or numeric field. I don't know which type you have blocked or transfered in this ready made package from infopop corp.

My question is, Is the option on searching user name is not available in the software or you intentionally convert search field from chracter to numeric field (registeration no)?

Sir, I think the search field should be available on chracter field that is user name and not on numeric field (i.e. registeration field.)

It will facilitate you too to post registeration no via email.

thanks

The search fields are fixed in the software - no choice.

The reason for restricting the search to member no. is that is greatly speeds up the search and therefore the server load.

Jon,
I just noticed that you have added a sent messages folder in "My profile" thanks. That was what I had written to you about, keeping a track of the sent messages from the private message forum.

Warm regards,
doctorleela

PS: Some members are having trouble downlading the entire discussions page. It seems only one thread at a time is being downloaded (Minneapolis). I've not had trouble here from India.

Angry

I cannot load the following page:

http://www.homeopathyhome.com/cgi-bi...?ubb=forum&f=2

It is the page that lists the threads for general DISCUSSION.

I emailed Jon and asked about it - and he said there were no problems on his end....BUT this problem started for me AFTER the maintenance..... And it is happening on the pages that list threads for each forum.

The ONLY way I can read threads now is to load this page:
http://www.homeopathyhome.com/cgi-bi...ltimatebb2.cgi

And THEN I have to load the ONE thread that is listed (the most current)...and navigate using the PREVIOUS BUTTON to access any other threads. So, I load pages I don't even want to read - to get to the next thread ....

Grrrrr...a bit frustrated, after having run every thing on my computer making sure it wasn't a problem on my end. (I even installed a newer version of my web browser thinking maybe since the maintenance, that my old browser was 'out of date'. NOTHING has changed!). So, grrrrrrr
