Unhappy

help - I have one of my stupid headaches again. I am supposed to go to my daughters halloween party tonight at her school and really don't want to miss it.

The headache really started yesterday on the left side - it is on the right side today. I will probably be getting my period today. The pain is around my temple and ear and jaw area and in occiput. It is a constant dull ache. It felt good to be outside in the frigid cold but didn't make to headache go away totally. A hot shower would feel good too. When the pain is in the back occiput I want to put my hair up very tightly - pull on hair.

I am being impatient with the kids and feeling very very sorry for myself because I just can't take being in pain almost everyday anymore.

Barb,

Is the intensity the same as before? I'm hoping the constitutional is modifying the intensity, even if it is only 10-20%.

Otherwise you could try BEll.

Warm regrds,

Dear Barb,

I'm just recovering from a headache myself--yech! As it started on the left and moved to the right, did you try Lachesis? Or Lac caninum? Again, sometimes I go right for the mentals if they're obvious. I once took Aurum for a headache when I noticed how depressed I was. Sometimes the concomitant is easier to prescribe for--good luck!

Hi Barb,

There is only one remedy listed in the Complete Repertory for head pain, localized in the occiput on the left side, which is ameliorated by "binding" the hair (pulling it up, as you describe). It is Kali-nitricum.

By any chance, are you taking any kind of Nitric remedy (Nitric Acid, Silver Nitrate, Ammonium Carb) as a constitutional?

Barb, I think along the same lines as Snoopy here--if you are depressed, as opposed to "just feeling sorry for yourself" as you stated earlier, the aurum sounds like a good idea. It is a great remedy for migraines.

At this point (what is it now, day 3 of the headache?) I'd given aurum a shot, especially if you have it nearby. Start with a low potency, wait to see if there's an amelioration, wait for that to regress, then dose again.
