Euphrasia Mother Tincture, diluted as instructions on the vial is absolutely brilliant in soothing any sore eyes.

Hi,

Rochelle, please post the instructions for diluting the MT--it isn't printed on every vial of the stuff that's available. I agree, it is excellent and very soothing. I've even had people tell me it works if you soak cotton pads with the dilution and just place them on closed eye-lids while relaxing.

There is certainly no need to use a combination "eyedrop" polypharmacy concoction which will cause damage to the patient in the long run.

Divina

Officially 1 drop for 15 mls (3 teaspoons). Personally I use a couple of drops in an eye bath of cool boiled water. Or make it up in a dropper bottle and drop inas required. I keep a made up bottle in the fridge!!

Have had faster better results with wash made of eyebright tea. The kind with the Cayenne pepper is not what I would recommend however .

When I used it I just boiled some eyebright herb in pur water, strained it and put it in a shot glass and held it up to my eye. Twice did the trick for me.

Wow. Eyebright herbs I could get hold of here, no problem. I would give it a try. But pardon me do you mean you hold up the solution to your eye or the strained leaves itself??

Euphrasia IS Eyebright and therefore the herbs would have the same effect. Please strain before using!!!!

I know Euphrasia = Eyebright. Just did not know whether the Mother Tincture is possible to be made by layman. The method of boiling and straining seems like herbal medicine to me... it isn't homeopathy is it? Anyway will definitely give it a shot when my eye acts up again. Thanks.

Sorry, but I am still *blur* as to whether I am supposed to hold up the strained herb or the strained solution to my eye?
