Researching for an article about whether homeopathy can heal a broken heart. Any suggestions gratefully received!

Sally,

The rubric
Ailments from Love, Disappointed
has almost 30 remedies.
I think that says enough for the ability of Homoeopathy to heal a broken heart.
The most common remedies are: Aurum, Acla Phos, Hyos, Ign, Nat Mur, Phos Ac, Staph
The presentations of each remedy differ, ie the way the person reacts to the "broken heart" and that is how they are chosen.

warm regards,
doctorleela

Hi Sally,
Homoeopathy can absolutely heal a broken heart. As doctorleela has said there are many remedies available to help a person recover emotionally and physically from this kind of trauma.
One example I can give you is a patient of mine who discovered she had acquired genital warts while in a long-term (what she thought was) monogamous relationship. She had to cope with the feeling of being 'dirty', betrayed, heart broken, homeless and single all at the same time. When she came for treatment she was ashamed, distraught, and panicky. Two prescriptions, firstly Pulsatilla and then later Silicea had her feeling strong and even positive about the whole experience! She found her own flat to rent, she took on a job with more responsibility, she discovered she really enjoyed her own company, the warts disappeared quickly, and she told all her friends why they had to wary of her ex-boyfriend. What a turn around!

Hmmm interesting!

I was prescribed Puls followed by Silicea too, and on Silicea day one I felt extra confident when I was out and an extra burst of positive energy.

But my complaint was allergic conjunctivitis. Not sure how my practitioner arrived at that remedy.

Rick...Stop. Your in the wrong direction!!

There's more to remedies that single symptoms! But I'm glad you are very observant and you have a keen sense of what is homoeopathically significant.
Regards,
doctorleela

I once suffered a broken heart and felt tortured and tormented by the intensity of my feelings. My homoeopath at the time gave me one dose of Lyssin 200, and I felt the pain lift in half an hour. I still to this day remember how light I felt, as if it didn't matter so much, that there was hope in the world, and I moved on from it without looking back.

No, in fact I never really liked chocolate until a few years ago. The lyssin was given to me about 8 years ago. The only thing I think the homoeopath prescribed on was the feeling of being tormented and tortured.

I gave my father Ignatia ( his sighing drove me nuts while I was staying with him for the funeral of my mother). I left him with a bottle of Rescue remedy to take when he had heart/angina pains.
He went back to the Doctor after I left and on the check up, his blood pressure had normalized, much to the surprise of the Dr. - who then prescribed new medication "just in case".
I only see him once a year(he's in West. Aust.), so I have repeated the remedy only once more and he has said how much better he feels when he visits.
