My friend has a bladder infection and feels the need to go to the bathroom all the time. She has pain in the lower back and near her left ovary. She was diagnosed as having a bladder infection and was given something for it (a power drink called Modural or something like that) but hasn't helped her at all. Is there any homeopathic remedy she could take or do you need more info?

Danielle,
COuld you get some more symptoms, like is she feeling cold or hot, is she thirsty , is she better with cold/hot application, is there any pain? What type? Any other modalities. If this is recurrent ahe will need constitutional medicine. But if not an acute ahoud suffice for the moment. Regards, doctorleela

Although you have not provided complete symptoms.
Please drink milk instead of allopathic medicine. Milk will deneutralize the condition. The medcine which is given to you is also used as alkali. Milk is actually alkali. Put your detail now

Very important point indeed given by saboor on PULS.
When you will use puls before menses. It will stimulate hormonal system and make the ligament in normal reflexive position. This reflexive movement to uterus and a rounding tissues actually cause pain. Use also multivitamins, during meals for one week. When you will use during menses. It will act as to stop flow of blood, just like we gave in profuse menses. This stopping behaviour during menses sometime cause cramping. So I will recommend puls before one week of menses period. May be saboor have a different point of view. |

Barb, I'm going on many years of experience with my own kidney troubles and having been treated in the past by a nephorologist (whom, btw is very sympathetic to homeopathy and alternative approaches which is more than I can say for most allopaths).
It has something to do with the pH of the urine - the alkalinity and acidity. If a UTI is going on - one would take something lik ascorbic acid with no problems - it is beneficial in helping to relieve uncomfortable symptoms - and it is believed to help rid one of the infection (this is purely practical, not homeopathic, obviously). If one is having Kidney pathology, then one must be careful with the pH that it isn't too acidic (i.e. Vit C, orange juice intake is cut down, along with other changes in diet, etc) - it stresses the kidneys from my understanding. Perhaps someone else can answer in more depth......but that is my basic understanding of the why's.

Dear Lisa and Barb,
In infections, it is understood that an acidic urine allows the proliferation of the infecting bacteria. Alkanizing the urine destroys there bacteria, controls the infection and also soothes the burning. HEnce I appreciate the suggestion of Khalid Saboor for Milk. (One would hope there were more of these helpful suggestions from him though, instead of confrontations!!) Dear Dr. Mas, Your suggestion/reasoning is sensible, thanks. I myself give the Pulsatilla (if constitutional) before the dysmennorrhea in my patients. You've posted on the wrong thread, though for the same person!! (See MEnstrual Cramps) regards, doctorleela

Thanks all for your posts.
I am in NYC and have not been able to give my friend this information but will remind myself tomorrow. They are now telling us to leave the building I work at here due to bomb threats so I must leave. But thanks and will let her know tomorrow.
