Question

Can anyone help me out with a lady I have in front of me asking for advice? I don't have any books with me at the moment.

She has been bitten by something today and a welt has appeared on her right arm just below her elbow. It is swollen, itchy and hot and it is a hard lump.

Any ideas???

If she desires cold applications, try apis 30C, if apis doesn't work, try ledum.

Snoopy

Thanks for reply, but she does not desire any application (hot or cold).

Does this change your suggestion at all?

Because it's hot, you can also think of belladonna, but, I suspect apis covers that.

After being bitten, she felt slightly nauseous and had to go to bed (as she was tired). She did not feel so sick when she woke up.

She JUST told me this?

Any suggestions?

Snoopy,

The site is not odematus, but hard as in solid (like wood - I felt it).

Thanks for your assistance. Gad, I really need to carry my books daily!!!

Simone,

I guess we were posting at the same time!

The important thing is to get started. You've gotta just give a remedy, then go to your repertory and study. With any luck by the time you find the perfect remedy, the patient will say, "Im better, thanks!"

So, give apis and watch an wait. Give it an hour since she's not in extreme discomfort.
Then try ledum if there's no positive sign.

Snoopy,

I won't see this woman again for a week after she leaves in a about an hour. So, I won't have time to study my repertory.

Thanks for your help, though.

Simone,

Also consider Rhus tox. It has itching and hard swelling. It's a 3. Ledum is a 2.

Simone,

Then give each remedy just 20 minutes to show a sign that they're gonna help.
