I've had high levels of mercury for the past 8 months. My symptoms are: Can't concentrate, trouble sleeping, feel cold all the time, fatigue, and uncoordinated. I've had to take a couple semesters off of school and have been severely depressed for a while. Hair, urine, and blood analysis all confirm my high levels of mercury.
I did chelation therapy for many months with minimal success. I just found out about homeopathy a few weeks ago and started seeing a homeopath 2 weeks ago. I would really like to feel better soon so I could resume school in the fall. Does anyone know anything about mercury toxicity and whether homeopathy could help? If so, how long does it take before one feels better? This has truly been a personal hell for me. |

Hi Merc17,
Sorry to hear that you suffer from high mercury levels. Welcome to homeopathy though, what a good choice for your complaints. I am positive that homeopathy can help you and a classical homeopath will take your full case and then prescribe one remedy only at any one time, which is closest to your symptom picture. (It does not necessarily have to be the remedy Mercury !) The speed of cure depends on your overall constitution and whether the most similar remedy to your symptom picture is found right away. If your homeopath finds the right remedy, improvement will be immediate but total cure may take a while. Old symptoms which you may have had earlier in your life may surface, that is a good thing. Actual length of treatment depends on the strength of the vital force which varies from individual to individual. Good luck for your journey to health. I imagine it is isopathy, but when we take apis for bee stings, or rhus tox for poison ivy, that's isopathy too.
I was just restating my notes from one of Robin Murphy's seminars: "If you have all your amalgams removed and get worse, you've got a mercury layer. Take a low potency merc. or similar remedy to cure the case." Then in another part he says, "Take mercurius before and after amalgam removal." Snoopy |

Dear Merc,
Mercurius 6C three times a day should help cure you. Figure on taking it for a month, but you always have to adjust a homeopathic remedy to suit you as an individual. Take less often if you get an aggravation. Stop the remedy when you're well, don't keep taking it. Good luck, Snoopy |

Actually, it is an attempt at isopathy. It would be isopathic if apis were made from the venom of bees, and rhus tox were made only from the essential and volatile oil of the plant. Both remedies are not made solely of these materials; either remedy will work only if there are similarities in presenting symptoms...not in suspected material causes of the symptoms.
That's why Rhus tox is such a huge remedy for Chicken pox; and apis is a big remedy anaphalactic shock. I'd argue both remedies are far more effective in these broad circumstances than they could ever be for poison ivy contact dermatitis or bee sting, respectively. Divina

First of all, thanks for taking an interest in my problem. It's a nice feeling after all those months of chelation and discouragement. I didn't know it would lead to a whole new discussion on isopathy. I wasn't sure whether to respond on this topic or that. I'm new to the whole homeopathy thing so I don't know all these remedies and don't have a strong opinion about them. After talking about my symptoms and history for about an hour, and then doing a live-cell blood analysis, my homeopath started me on carbo vegitalis (sp.?). He also has me taking an herbal formula in order to warm up my right kidney. Finally, we're doing some acupunture to improve circulation and vitality. He feels all 3 will help me recover as quickly as possible. Any thoughts on carbo vegitalis? Or other comments?

Hi,
Please get a materia medica by Boericke at least, which will give you a fundamental understanding about the remedies. I am just suggesting this because I WANT YOU TO be involved. |
