Well, I've been better today. It's diminished but still there. So I'll try one more day of 30c and see how that goes. This is a really screwball ailment. It's never happened before. I can't help but wonder if it's the result of the argentum, and in the process, if I'm messing with it.

P.S. When you mentioned dry mouth and thirst, I rerepertorized, and you should add Phosphorus and Bryonia to your list of remedies to try.

Now I'm beginning to wonder. For the past few hours, my arms and hands, especially my left, have been burning. I remember having these symptoms once before and using Rhus to treat them, and they went away. Isn't this a proving? If so, how do I stop it?

Did I read this correctly? You took Arg. Nit 10M just a few weeks ago? And yet, in the meantime, all these other remedies?

Is the vertigo an old symptom that you've experienced before, as the burning symptoms you're experiencing in your arms are? If this is the case, then, it could be that the Arg. N. is doing its thing, and it shouldn't be interfered with.

Who advised the ferrum metalicum, your homeopath? Was the 10M prescription made by a homeopath, or self-administered? There is so much "going on" here, that its hard to tell what's really you and what's a symptom of any of the other remedies or therapies that are being used.

Andy,

It could be a proving, but, how are the symptoms of vertigo you took the Rhus tox for? Have you gotten anything positive from Rhus tox or is it all negative?

At any rate, stop the remedy and the proving symptoms should fade fairly soon. Let us know how you are.

Andy,

I discounted the Arg-n theory because there is a clear etiology--cause and effect. Here are the rubrics I used:

Faintness from loss of sleep
Ailments from loss of sleep
Fasting aggravates
Weakness after excitement
Excitement aggravates
Ailments from Hurry
Desires Sweets
Inner Mouth, dryness
Vertigo As if Intoxicated
Vertigo with nausea
Vertigo from loss of sleep
Vertigo with weakness
Ailments from Coffee
Mouth, dryness with thirst

So, what came up, unfortunately, wasn't Rhus tox, but Phos., Bryonia, Nux Vomica Cocculus, Aconite and China.

So, you can see that you did something to cause this strange occurrence. If it came out of nowhere I'd be thinking, "Maybe it's that Arg-n." but, it seems unlikely to me.

Thanks Snoopy. By chance, was there a rubric for vertigo from eating?

Divinia, I can understand your confusion so I'll explain. The Argentum dose was more than 2 months ago, and it was prescribed. It's done its work in other ways I won't go into here.

As for the Ferrum, I came upon it myself when suffering from a really bad upper back strain that had nothing to do with my remedy. Ruta and Arnica had failed to help with it, but Ferrum in only 1-2 doses worked.

I turned to this board for the dizziness because nothing and no one seemed to help, including my homeopath, who was at a loss (that dinged my faith in him). Things seem to be working out nicely now. Perhaps I should turn to you folks for my constitutional remedy, too.

Andy P,

Vertigo, agg. eating while:
am-c 3; arn 2; grat 2; mag-c 2; mag-m 2; nux-v 3; old 2; phos 2; sil 3.

Vertigo, agg. eating after:
aco 2; amb 2; cham 3; colc 2; graph 3;grat 2; kali-c 3; lach 4; merc 2; nat-m 4; nat-s 2; nux-v 5; petr 4; phos 5; phos-ac 2; puls 5; rhus-t 3; saba 2; sec-c 2; sep 2; sul 4.

Nux-v, puls & phos are characteristic(after eating).

Please describe taste in mouth other than 'bad' if possible.
also head sweats, if cold clammy or hot..that kind of thing.

Sounds a bit nux vomie to me. Coffee.. running ragged.. yet sedetary too.

To answer Louise, the taste in my mouth is like bile or stomach acid. It feels like the empty contents of my digestive tract are coming back up. It's worse on an empty stomach, goes away when I eat. Of course, then I get dizzy.

The sweat is very hot and mostly around the head. Most of my perspiration is from the neck up. This is especially true when I sleep or take a mid-afternoon nap (working at home has its privledges). I'll wake up an hour later, dry from the neck down and from the neck up it's like I got out of the shower.

I also perspire very easily. While working around the apartment today to build the furniture I had to wear a sweatband around my head or the sweat would pour into my eyes, on my glasses and on the furniture.

Also to note, I struggled to breathe while lugging around the heavy furniture, which is quite common. It's a hiatal hernia and it's aggrivated by physical labor. I can get on a treadmill or stairmaster in the gym and work up a good sweat, but if I do something like move furniture or lug heavy stuff up and down from my apartment, I'll be sucking wind.

Hope it helps.

Andy,

Is the sweat on the head a concomitant of the
vertigo, or does it predate it?

What about the taste in your mouth and the feeling that everything is rising up until you eat? Is that a concomitant of the vertigo?

So far, this new information would tend to give phos. a slight boost.

How long have you had a hiatal hernia? What problems does it cause you under normal conditions?

Snoopy
