David & Snoopy; Thanks for your suggestions. Are you suggesting that I take one single dosage (4-5 small pills) of Nux Vom 30C and not repeat it 3 times a day as I have been doing with Cantharis. If it helps me, should I be taking one dosage evry day or is it a one time remedy only. Thanks. Also, could there be structural problem in my bladder (blockage etc) or the reasons for my ailment is unknown ?

Dear rb,
I don't think there's anything wrong with your bladder, I think you've weakened your kidneys by drinking more water than you need. I think David may have meant for you to take one dose of nux vomica and wait to see what happens, but, read his post over again. Perhaps you can email him directly and ask if he doesn't respond soon. Have you been able to find equisetum tincture? Perhaps you can order it from a homeopathic pharmacy, like Ainsworth's for example. You can click on "Services and Supplies" at the top of the homepage of this web site and nose around to see who carries it. Snoopy |

Hi Snoopy:
Thanks a lot for taking interest in my predicament. I have not been able to locate the Horsetail Tincture yet. Also, one pharmacy told me that there is two kinds of Equisetum; Arvense and Hiemale. Which one should I be looking for. Also, seems like they need a prescription to dispense the tincture. This place is called Arrowroot in Paoli. |

Hi Snoopy:
Seems like the Equisetum Arvense Tincture is available over the web without prescription and for the Equisetum Hymale Tincture, I would need a prescription. Should I go ahead and take the former or try and get a prescription. Many thanks. |

Dear Rb,
are you taking cantharis 3x day every day? That is way too much. It may be acting suppressively, not curing but pushing the symptoms down. A well selected remedy only needs be given a few times(1-4 times) and will cause good improvement without needing to be repeated. To take the Nux-v, put 1 pill in water, let it dissolve, stir thoroughly and take 2 teaspoons of the mixture. This is one dose. Wait and see if there is any change before taking another dose. It is important to stop the cantharis, as you should not take more than one remedy at a time.

Dear Rb,
What? You called Arrowroot (a store I'm very familiar with) and they told you that you need a prescription (how pretentious!) for a nontoxic herb? Give me a break! Here's what the materia medica says: Equisetum Hyemale (Horsetail). Herbal: A decoction, teaspoonful doses or the tincture in hot water is found useful to allay irritability of the urinary tract, kidney stones, dysuria, also for pleuritis effusion and dropsy. Horsetail tea is widely known as a kidney tonic." And they say you need a prescription? I'm at a loss for words. Did you ask why? Well, Arrowroot may be a lost cause, but I'll keep looking and get back to you. Snoopy |

Dear Rb,
I've looked everywhere, and it looks like we're stuck with Equisetum Arvense, which is Horsetail Grass, and I guess that's good enough. You can order it from Washington Homeopathics, which you can click-on on the homepage of this web site. It says, "Washington Homeopathics brings you Boericke's Materia Medica Online", and when you get to the site, click on "Choose a Topic" and scroll down to "Order Online". Snoopy |
