Dear Rajan,
I repertorized your son's case, and not surprisingly, came up with Pulsatilla! And I came up with it just on the mentals and generals--even without the green discharge! So, I'm wondering how it would be if you gave him Pulsatilla 6C three times a day for a month--because he may be a Pulsatilla child with Pulsatilla acutes! Most of the time, the acute is a different remedy than the chronic--like Calc-carb children who have Belladonna fevers. So you could try the Puls. daily or you could give us more information which might move it toward another remedy. The kicking the covers off at night, the fear of being alone, needing to sleep with mom, a sweet, mild, extroverted child....It's hard to get away from puls. And then you throw in the green mucus, so to speak, and it's understandable why the repertorization came out that way. If it doesn't work, I would consider Carcinosin--very similar to puls and phos in personality, but lots of allergies and immune system problems. Snoopy |

Dear Snoopy:
Thanks for repertorizing my son's case & recommending Pulsatilla. I wanted to check with you further. As mentioned in my earlier post, I have given him Puls 30C before during his acutes & he would get better. Then after some time his problems would resurface. So in April 2001, I decided to give him a single dose (child dose, half adult dose) of Puls 200C. He got fever, which I am not sure because of Puls or just a concidence. I could not control it, & he ended up taking two courses of antibiotics before his fever went away. The allopathic doctor said that time that he had redness in his ears. In view of the above should I give him Puls or Carcinosin. If Puls, should I try another dose of 200C potency. Thanks for all your help. Rajan |

Dear Rajan,
I wouldn't give another dose of 200C! That may have been an aggravation, but with low potency prescribing, you can avoid these debilitating occurrences. I would give a 6C three times a day for a month, and feel free to adjust the remedy. In other words, if it's aggravating in some way, stop it. Wait until the aggravation wears off and see if an improvement follows, if so, start the remedy again, but give less often. If nothing seems to be happening, give 4 times a day. If he gets an acute, give puls. 30C til it's over, then go back to the 6C. After a month, let us know how he's doing. Keep track of what's wrong with him so you'll know if it got better! Sometimes when you've been given a remedy, you totally forget that you used to be sick after a month's time. Snoopy |
