I would try out Stramonium 1M
Viz: Praying
?Suppressed Eruption (chicken pox)
Fear of being alone, desires company all the time
Fear of Dark
Aversion to Light

One still needs to explain the suppurative tendency of the warts thoug. But I won't be surpeised if the first response to Stramonium is the absence Suppuration ....then no new warts appearing with a definite improvement in her fears....
Please think about it.

Well the MM on Stramonium does not fit her or make sense

I really do not feel able to order more and more pills and throw them at a situation

Really cant understand why Carcinosin does not work its the closest I have read to the childs personality

The warts supparate when scratched or knocked or rubbed by clothes and this is hardly surprising given where they are

Some are behind the knee
many around knicker elastic line
and huge number of large ones on left leg
odd v small ones on torso

Nothing was given to suppress the Chickenpox
Only suppresant is anti histamines because of severe Hay fever from March to september mainly tree and flower pollens

Cant stand bright lights >>>>>needs to wear sunglasses

Pat,

When we do not see any changes in the case, it does no good to bemoan the apparent lack of reaction to a "well-chosen" remedy. You must go back and re-examine the case, to see if any remedies which were close to the remedy given might fit; or see if there is something you have missed or been mistaken about.

Perhaps you need to re-prioritize your rubrics so that they reflect exactly what it is that must be cured. It is not so much the warts that are problematic in this case--it is the patient's reaction to them which needs to be understood and prioritized. It seems clear to me that there is a terrific sensitivity in this case which would probably exist even without the warts symptoms. Clearly, this is evident in the great susceptibility in the case...even sunlight gives this child trouble. Her reactions to the situation presented by her condition is revealing--examine that closely.

Just because a remedy "doesn't match the personality" of the child, doesn't mean it doesn't fit the totality of the case. Remember that you must observe the totality of the case--not just the personality, the physical symptoms, or the mental/emotional state. Do not rule out a remedy on "personality" or "picture" alone; it may well apply, especially if the rubrics include the remedy repeatedly. Keep Stramonium in mind--your patient may not fit your idea of a stramonium child--but stramonium may well be indicated in each rubric you choose for the case. You must always strive to be unbiased when you work at this, and keep yourself open to a possibility you may not have considered before.

I thought you had decided to try medorrhinum next...what happened to that idea? Please try to be patient and understand that you may have to try a number of remedies before finding the "right" one for any case. I understand that you must be feeling some pressure to do something, but you must try to be methodical and dispassionate in your decision making for this patient. If you are feeling like you have to prove yourself or prove the value of homeopathy with this case, make yourself stop; the process has to be about looking after the patient well, and not about any harboured insecurities you feel you may have to put right in yourself.

Review the case without bias, consider the learned contributions others have offered to you, and then act, as required. If it means you have to try more than one remedy, then so be it. If you really aren't feeling up to managing the case probably, you must refer the patient to someone else.

Dear Pat,

I understand your frustration and I have been there myself. Its not a nice feeling to see someone sufferring and all that your doing does not seem to help! Its easy to suggest something, but Stramonium for warts!!??

Well I have prescribed Stramonium for Sinusutis, for Typhoid, which worked and once when it was prescribed for COnvulsion it did not work!!

If I can help you out of this, I would suggest like Divina said, look at the ttotality again. What I see is a terrified schild. Frightened to be alone, violent reactions to anything that make her insecure, and yet "Praying to get help". Her fear of dark, yet unable to tolerate bright lights. (Even Boerick has these symptoms). SHe seems to have a strong Calcarea deep inside, which may or may not surface once this episode is over.

The suppression of an eruption is not necessarily Allopathic, it may be homoeopathic too!! Yes we too can suppress with a non similimum. Its difficult to accept, and it scares me. I avoid using a remedy very often due to this, as just the disappearace of symptoms is not cure. What happens after that is the clue.

What would I do if I felt like you do at the moment? I would PRAY a lot. Then I would either take the patient and relatives into confidence and ask then if they were willing to let me continue trying or would they like ME to take them to another collegue. Either one works, and the patient is grateful and remains faithful.

Please think of Stramonium. Her state underneath the warts is very strong. I sincerely wish you all the best.

I am not a Homeopath merely a grandmother who was restored to health by Homeopathy in which I am now very interested and the only form of medicine in which I believe >>>>>no faith whatever in Allopathy have a Hypothyroid husband whose life has been wrecked by allopaths

I am struggling to understand the reasons behind all the recomendations and really dont know what to order or what next to give never mind what strength

Since it took me 3 Homeopaths to even recover my own health and even now many on this board would say I need to find the true remedy I cannot afford to run the same cost of fees for my grandaughter Abigail her parents have enough financial concerns without the thought of bills from one Homeopath to another

Well, with all due respect Pat, you must know that homeopathy must be practiced as prescribed by Hahnemann, or not at all. If you are not a homeopath, just a grandmother, then perhaps you need to do some thinking here. My first question for your consideration:

How much is health worth to you? Less than money? More than money? How much?

People on the BB are trying to give you suggestions about ways to repertorize the case, or remedies to consider after closer examination of the repertories, the case, and the Materia Medicas. You ought to be doing some research on these suggestions--not just blindly "following" what others offer as possibilities as "gospel truth".

Prescribing should be done in person, in proper consultation--with the homeopath taking note of the entire totality of the case. If you need proof of this, just look back at CRA's thread about a high fever a few weeks back--blindly, people suggested a bunch of flu remedies to this patient--but how many of us would have missed diagnosing Lyme's disease if we had actually seen the bullseye ring marks that the patient could only describe as "bruises" via the internet? Not many, I'd say, as the disease is very easy to identify seen first hand--at it would easily explain the high fevers which didn't respond to the typical acute flu remedies. How much suffering could CRA have been saved if only her case could have been taken in person? My answer is, "lots".

Further, it is actually you who decided to give the remedies without doing the work others thought you would do---repertorize the case as you saw it, consult the materia medica articles regarding the remedies suggested, and consider the case from several angles. This is what homeopaths are paid to do--it takes time, effort, concentration, education, and skill to do this properly. It doesn't happen right off the bat, on the first try, in all cases either--hence the number of years homeopaths spend learning about case management. Isn't your granddaughter worth this? Do you really think it is better to shortchange her the attention she needs in order to get some quicky solutions, and without following up on them, just give her the remedies?

I understand you must be frustrated--and that is precisely why you are unfit to treat this child. You are not objective in this case, and are actually part of the larger totality of the case--so, without this objectivity, you will not be effective. You need to find a skilled classical prescriber who can at least lay eyes on her condition, as well as observe and gather the rest of the case--FIRST HAND. If it is just a matter of money holding you back, there are options you can discuss with a homeopath to lessen this burden. Then again, if you feel that paying money for sound treatment isn't a good idea in any situation, and that you'll "only get taken advantage of" by a homeopath, do your research in finding a good practitioner and don't go to one until you've found one you think will do well. If you think being "ripped off" is unavoidable, then that really is more revealing of you than it is of the truth.

If you read about me you would know it took me 3 Homeopaths to find one who knew what was wrong with me yet she was unable to find help for my husband

It is precisely the difficulty in finding really good Homeopaths in my area that i sought help here

Since the only remedy suggested which closely matched her symptoms and her personality was Carcinosin i tried it

I have read and reread all the other suggestions in several of my books and I do not see any similarity

Clearly I have little option but to find a good Homeopath and hope they are able to find solutions for me

Its rather too easy for you to be flippant about isnt health worth money when you have no idea of the circumstances

Pat, where would I have read about you? You state in your posts that you are sensitive to aluminum, and often outline the possibility for other patients. That is what I know about you from this bulletin board.

It takes most people several attempts at finding any professional with which to work. It took me 3 different tries before finding a homeopath I could trust, too. As for a family MD, I still (after many decades) have yet to find one I like well enough to talk to about anything besides arranging tests....same goes for dentists, lawyers, accountants, and teachers.
You have to do the legwork to find someone suitable to work with. There are no shortcuts. Your situation is no exception, nor is your grand daughter's.

Where I practice, in Southern Ontario--and even in the rest of Canada and most of the United States--homeopathy is largely unknown. When it is a recognized thing, it is most commonly known as a "quack" medicine. In the UK, homeopathy and its practice has been protected by law--and it has been practiced with little disruption ever since Hahnemann, more or less. It is even covered by the National Health system, under certain conditions. Homeopathy does not enjoy such widespread accessibility here in North America, where the average first consultation session is over $200 CAD (about 100 pounds or so). ALL of that money has to come out of pocket, as there is 100% coverage available only for conventional treatment here. Yet people manage to find practitioners in sparsely populated areas of the country, as well as in the larger cities.
Surely the UK, which has a far greater acceptance and familiarity with homeopathy, and which also has a far greater population than Canada, would have more homeopaths available?

If you think my questions were flip, well, that is your opinion. Think what you want about me, but every patient must be prepared to come to terms with those very questions. By your own admission, it took you 3 homeopaths before you found one that could suggest a possible maintaining cause...yet you expect people to outright prescribe for a child--sight unseen--with a chronic condition, based only on what you provide as information which is second hand at best...do you not see how irresponsible this is? Why isn't Abigail worth the proper care she needs?

I wish you the best in locating someone who can help your granddaughter, and I do wish you will use your energies to find a good practitioner for her. I'm sure you will be able to find someone who will work out some form of payment system for the work to be done, too. All it takes is some willingness and some determination. Set your sights on finding the best help for your grandchild, and you will do so.
