Hi Barb,
That's an interesting point you make about the Arg-Nit being "your" remedy...and you are nice, sweet, kind, etc....while hubby is a big *&%$#@*&!!!!! furniture mover who can't leave a window treatment be...so how could he need the same remedy as you?
Well, it is not unusual for people to dynamically influence each other in this way, so that both are in the same state (only different phases of the same sickness). You see this a lot in families or in people who are in an engaging relationship with another person, which takes up a great deal of their mental time and energy. One of my more recent patients is someone like this--a woman who is involved in a relationship with a man who is emotionally unavailable to her, because he is still grieving over his dead wife. They are both in an "ignatia" state--and because she is the one who responded to the remedy (and the one who sought out my help, and took it) we can already see the beginnings of a subtle change in behaviour on his part (less fearful of the emotional engagement, not so threatened by the idea of being 'involved' with someone again).
Another example of this: when we studied the remedy Stramonium in school, one of the tools used to demonstrate the stramonium state "spectrum" was the movie The Shining, with Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, and Scatman Cruthers. The movie was chosen because each of the main characters, including the child character, is in a "stramonium" state. So, go figure: the movie shows one character to be violent and abusive, and another as a target of his violence and abuse--and yet another as one who can foresee an outcome and try to prevent it. Yet all are examples of the state of the remedy....interesting, huh?
