All of the suggestions here have been effective for many people. I'm not sure how far you would have to travel to find a Gerson clinic/hospital near you, but it would definitely be worth your while to inform yourself about this nutritional option. I have to say, however, that it does not work for everyone: I used to know a woman who was quite renowned in Canada for her studies and work as a nutritional consultant and teacher, and when she was diagnosed with breast cancer the Gerson therapy actually accelerated her cachexia. She was able to find some good support herbally and recovered long enough to live another year and a half. I often wonder what would have happened for her if she had given homeopathy a chance as well.

There are many documented cases of successful cancer treatment using homeopathy, but it is imperative that you find an excellent, skilled homeopath to work with. Dr. Ramakrishnan in India travels all over the world and he consults with many cancer patients--his specialty in homeopathy is treating cancer. Another specialist is Andre Saine, who is practicing in Montreal, Canada. As these doctors have spent so much time focusing on this particular illness and treatment, it would be good to write to them directly for advice/direction. I would not, however, recommend treatment with either of them unless you can arrange for them to be physically present to observe and continuously monitor your wife and her state of being. What she will need is someone very skilled and knowledgeable, who can be present on an ongoing basis to administer remedies to help heal and also to palliate some of the pain and suffering caused by the allopathic medicines. Conventional medical treatment for cancer is very often the reason most patients die--it is far too destructive of whatever healthy tissue remains in the body, in its attempts to "destroy" diseased tissue. But homeopathic remedies can mitigate much of that activity and help the body to withstand the more destructive aspects of conventional treatment; with that threat lessened, it is easier for a person to regain strength during their treatments, and hopefully, regain health.

Just a caveat to Divina's post--Dr. Ramakrishnan's protocols are clearly spelled out in his book, so a well-trained homeopath should be able to help you with administering his recommended remedies. Apart from the remedies he would use, his protocols include alternating between two different remedies, ie., the first remedy one week, the second remedy next week, etc. The administration involves giving the dose in water every 15 minutes for 10 doses, which means a time commitment of 2 hours, 15 minutes every day for up to a year or more. He does not recommend use of his protocols without the help of a professional homeopath.
