Dear All,

Have you got a GENUS epidemicus remedy for religious fanatics which is all present for ages and in every race & creed and religion, which is the basics of all human beings misery so far analysed by the research people. ( Not by me)

I am here to find a homoeopathic solution not to involve in any kind of debate about religion and so forth.

Only Homoepathic Views Please.

Thanks All

I don't think there is one reason (and therefore one remedy) why people become fanatical about religion. It would have to depend on their history, background, individual characteristics. No more than Violence or Abuse or Alcoholism or Loneliness can have an answer in one remedy. There has been religious fanaticism for a long stretch of human history, it is hardly an epedemic. One could argue it is simply an aspect of Sycosis, or maybe even Syphilis. one could also argue it is the negative side to Spirituality, which means like Jealousy and Greed and Sloth, it is part of the Human (diseased) Condition.

There are rubrics in the repertories--such as those which describe a belief that one is God, that one corresponds to God directly, that one is God's messenger...etc, etc...that will list many good remedies for the kind of fanaticism/behaviour you describe--or any variation of it. Remedies which come to mind include lachesis (as well as any number of the snake/spider remedies); veratrum album, hyoscyamus.

I don't believe this is a Epidemic Disease, but rather a state of intellectual/mental/emotional disturbance which can be brought about as a result of any number of different causes (religious fanaticism, despair, and violent/suicidal behaviour are part of what some women experience after giving birth, for example...). So you will have to take each case individually, and find out what is to be cured in each patient. GE prescribing doesn't apply here: it is far too easy to oversimplify things by saying this one aspect of humanity is responsible for all the suffering in the world.

Erich Fromm's "The True Believer" is a classic exploration of fanaticism in its various forms--religious, political, etc. It may shed light on some of the psychological underpinnings of that state.

agree with the above views and some probable rubrics for this mental state are;
Mind-fanatism
'' abusive
'' religious affections
' anger /contradictions from
'" ardent
" '' censorious
'' ''chaotic
'' ''contemptuous
'' ''contradiction intolerant of
'' ''delusion/better than others he is
'' '' '' /greatness of,as to
'' '' '' ''/superiority
'' dictatorial
'' ''high spirited
'' '' impertinance
'' '' jealous
'' '' malicious
these are some of the symptoms come from this stase of mind. Not only in religion but also in many other including homoeopathy ther is fanatism. It is the mental state that is at fault.

Is fanatism a disease? do we want to change someones character, because it does not fit our perception of normality? Selfconfidence or egoism- it just depends on where you stand.

I agree with the above and want to add that one of the underlying emotions of fanatics is fear, fear of whatever is different.

Hi Shashi Roy,
There are many fears listed as you know. I stumbled over an interesting one:

"Fear, faith, to lose his religious"

Of course this does not imply everyone having this kind of fear is a fanatic, however, some religious fanatics may have this fear.

I believe it really depends on a case to case basis what rubric and remedy has to be looked at.
