Ladies and Gentlemen,

please be informed that I changed to another e-mail service which works much faster with less time consuming long-loading advertisements:

forbettina@yahoo.de

(it is a stupid name but the names I wanted were all occupied)

Hi Bettina,

You sound much better, even though you are bleeding again. You needed that break! I hope you get some rest. We really have to listen to our bodies. Not only do we feel tired, but our bodies will even vocalize "I am tired!" but still we don't listen. As I said in another thread, we don't drive our cars into the ground, but our bodies we do.

Usually you can push and play hard on the weekend, but when you go through something like this, it is really important to rest. Get enough SLEEP too! Do you have much tension? If so, please learn some relaxation techniques and use them. Just lay down and close your eyes, relax your head, face, neck, shoulders, arms, back, etc- each part consciously one at a time, and then lay still and relaxed, and visualize a pretty paradise or something pleasant. Breathe deep and slow. Tension tends to burn up a lot of enzymes, and they are important in fighting illness. If massage feels good to you, have someone massage you in a soothing way. Have them massage your scalp, pulling your hair lightly away from you. Have them stroke DOWN your back and DOWN your arms and legs (not hard enough to press all your blood down into your hands....) Even very light strokes bring relief, and then they can pull the tension right out your fingertips and toes lightly. Feeling very very good like that is very healing. When you are in tense situations, be sure you are RELAXING consciously and BREATHING enough. We tend to hold our breath under stress.

I'm glad you are not watching the scales too closely. Moderation in everything is healthy. Can you see yourself running tensely to the scales? Holding your breath....and then being upset with 1/2 lb weight gain right after a glass of water.

Have a good relaxing week at work; save the enzymes for something else!!!

Dear Bettina,
If it were me, I wouldn't take the iron supplements. I speak from my own experiences with heavy bleeding - but also, as you know I have their book and have read it (along with following the way of eating)and I think they make some very interesting points!

Even though I never missed periods like you - I never felt I needed an iron supplement whilst the heavy bleeding was there. But, I made darn sure that I ate properly during those heavy periods.

Shirely may or may not agree - or others, but this is simply my opinion. You are ultimately the one to make decisions when it comes to what you take, eat or otherwise.

If you feel you do not need it - then don't take it. What I mean is are you having symptoms that are associated with anemia? If not, then..... From having read the information in the Eades' book and considering how you feel (having anemia symptoms or not?) - what would you think?

I defer to someone who is qualified - but those are my thoughts on this.

Lastly, if you are still in doubt, once others have replied - then perhaps you could consider getting your blood tested? (if it is feasible for you)

All the best,
Lisa

Did I ever mention.... if you eat raw seeds and maybe some nuts too- they have enzyme inhibitors to keep them from growing at the wrong place and time. That is why squirrels hide them in a dark hole- to sprout them and get the inhibitors stopped. The inhibitors will prevent you from digesting them well, and that is why large amounts of seeds will feel like a rock in your stomach! To eat raw seeds and maybe some nuts, sprout them first or take high protease enzymes to kill off the enzyme inhibitors. Then they are a good food for an A type!

Bettina - the test I use for anaemia with my patients is to press a finger nail until it goes white and then release it. The usual red colour should return immediately, not slowly. If this happens you are fine. If it returns at all slowly may I suggest once again that you find Florodix which is a natural iron containing liquid although I believe inUK they also make it in tablet form. It is perfectly safe and does not have the side effects that chemical iron supplements have.
