Mosquitos just love my 5 year old, the problem is that she has terrible reactions to them. The area swells and gets terribly red and itchy. I have tried ledum and apis. Any other suggestions? She constantly wants to scratch them until the bleed.
Also I heard this is related to Vit B deficiency, anyone know about this?

Dear Barb
I have exactly the same problem as your poor daughter. Taking Vit B complex is meant to help, and also I find that cutting out sugar seems to stop them being so attracted to me. But the best thing I have discovered that has really helped my misery in the summer months is, as soon as I am bitten I rub the inside of a banana skin on the bite. It still itches for about 5 mins then totally goes, like magic. I have tried so many other things, tea tree oil, vinegar, creams, anti histamines, and the banana skin is the ONLY thing that makes any difference. I hope this will help your poor daughter. |

You could give her, her constitutional remedy and this won't happen. Is the chronic of apis her remedy?

Dear Barb,
does she get bitten when others nearby do not? If so, I might suggest using either the rubric "Delusion is being bitten" -hyos or stram, or "Fear of being bitten" - choc, falco-p,hyos,lyssin. She is the one who doesn't like to be alone at night. isn't that right? There is another remedy that looks a bit like Phos, and has a fear of being bitten by poisonous insects, which is Abelmoschus. Just an idea anyway.

She does seem to attract them more than others. Her father has the same problem as does his mother and they both swell up a lot too from the mosquito bites. It is worse if she gets them on her face. Yes she is the one who is fearful at night, fear of the dark and to be alone at night. She also still wets the bed every night and is difficult to awake. I am not entirely sure but it may be that she wets in the first part of sleep. She HATES to have her hair combed.
What is the chronic of apis? [ 01 July 2001: Message edited by: Barb ]

Nat-mur was the reply for Barb's query--not a suggestion.
With these mentals and an oversensitive skin, Kali-carb might be the probable remedy.

Dear Barb,
The remedy is Bellodonna. Wetting in first sleep & the hair combing. certainly that is Bell.
