Dear friends,
I have a friend who just contracted a sort of an acute eye problem, which however he also had 2 years ago. Suddenly he has a feeling of some foreign particle in the eye ( in both eyes), while there is nothing there, then he starts scratching the eyes as if to remove this inexisting thing and on the next day he cannot open the eyes as this causes a flood of tears and unbearable stinging pain in the eyes. The generalist-style doctors told him that he has fissures, cracks in the outermost surface of his eyes. Last time it took him more than 2 weeks to get over it. Unfortunately, I don't know much homeopathic information about him and I write just in case there would be something to suggest as an emergency treatment of such eye conditions. I can only say that he's extremely attracted by sweet things, can eat half a pot of jam at once, is extremely active and energetic, persistent in his work, is prone to violent emotional reactions, but calms down quite quickly. Also he has an allergy to animal hair. Is always hungry. I'd appreciate any comments or if there is no way to find an emergency remedy, I'd try to ask him for more information. Thank you, Helena Z. |

Eyebright is an excellent herbal remedy for such acutes as this, and even works pretty well as a homoeopathic remedy too. It is called Euphrasia. I sometimes use it in 12c as a first aid remedy, but the herbal is also fine.

Dear Snoopy,
So Calendula is good for any sort of cuts, thank you, I did not realize that! This friend of mine is now using some allopathic chemical thing now but if it does not help him in a couple of days, I'm sure I can help him with Calendula as I have it, while Euphrasia is unfortunately out of reach for me for the moment. By the way, I just enrolled to Devon School of Homeopathy and even received the books and first assignments. Thank you again, Helena Z. |

I was once told that Aconite is Arnica for the eye. Any thoughts on this?

I am not sure about the Aconite thing... if it was a sudden injury, or from cold penetrating winds, any shock to the eye maybe. Anyone else heard of this, and why?

Dear Lisa,
Thank you for encouragement, I really look forward to start the reading right away. My tutor is Ms Madhu Anhes, and what's interesting she is interested in something I find intriguing too - "Buddhist related psychotherapy practice" as it is written in her letter - I already received a personal welcoming letter, which is also very reassuring! As for my friend, it turned out that it is not the second but already the third case of the same ailment he has, and every time it comes after a cold, he even still had hoarse voice when I first called him the other day. I'm thinking of sending them at least Calendula today if he has no improvement, but I still haven't heard from him today. He has excellent sight and in fact his eyes are his most important "means of production" as he is doing historical studies - Russian emigration in Japan. He still cannot find a good position anywhere and he has a wife and a little girl to support. It's really important to get him well soon. Thank you very much for your suggestions, Helena Z.
