I was on the pill for about a month - this was AFTER the panic stuff already started. I was paronoid the whole time that every headache I had was indicative of a stroke (a side effect). I should mention that I am a hypochondriac too - to a degree.
Also my first pregnancy about 7 years ago ended in a miscarriage in the fourth month. This was absolutley devistating to me.

When I was analyzing the information, I sorted it into an order consistent with rubrics, so I'm just pasting the same here. These are considerably more rubrics than are necessary, but nevertheless no matter which rubrics I do choose it confirms (for me) the idea of calc carb. Some of the following rubrics have already been mentioned, but here are ones I considered, along with the words that caused me to choose them:
1) Back curvature spine My body structure is out of whack. My spine is curved deeply in just above the sacral area and then my upper back is hunched over and my neck is pushed far forward (like a duck). My shoulders are rounded forward. When I try to stand or sit very straight I get very dizzy and like I can’t breathe right. I can remember being quite young in grade school and being at church being yelled at to kneel straight and I felt like I was gonna faint. 2) Teeth caries premature in children I have lots of mercury fillings – had horrible teeth as a youngster – always needing a filling. 3) Head large My feet point outward when I walk – I have a large head. 4) Face discoloration brown spots When I was pregnant with my youngest daughter (2 and a half years ago) I developed a brownish blotchy stain on my upper lip, it is still there and gets much darker from sun exposure. 5) Head wens I have a cyst on my head that has recently been getting infected with disgusting foul dirty white pus. 6) Skin moles Miscellaneous info: I have a lot of moles and cysts. 7) Female condylomata I have had one case of vaginal conylmolata. 8) Teeth grinding I also constantly grind my teeth. 9) Desires sweets which agg I love sweets. The headaches will also come on if I have a sugary dessert in the evening – the next morning I’ll wake with one. 10) Gen side left then right The pains are sharp – “festering” pains that seem to start on the left and then go to the entire abdominal area or to the right. 11) Gen jar stepping agg They are much worse from jarring motion. 12) Gen cracking joints My neck does crack a lot. My left ankle occasionally cracks while walking up the stairs. 13) Food des sweets, fat, refreshing things I have a big addiction to pop – it is not just the caffeine but also the carbonation. I love sweets, fatty foods, and fast foods. 14) Food av sour, spicey I hate bitter or sour stuff, never drink alcohol, and don’t like spicy stuff. 15) Change weather agg; wet weather agg Change of the weather aggravates symptoms, as does humidity. 16) Ailments anticipation, bad news 17) Thinking of complaints agg I ALWAYS get diarrhea before ANY unusual event, including simple things like parent teacher conferences or doctor appts. or going to the movies or out to dinner. It is definitely worse from thinking about it. Upsetting or frightening news also causes diarrhea. 18) Fear happen; Anxiety health Usually the anxiety is about having to rush to a bathroom somewhere but if that isn’t an issue than I get very anxious about fainting or having a heart attack. I obsess about this – it is all I ever think about. 19) Home, desires to go I never want to out and go anywhere. I would be very happy and content to stay in my home forever. Now I just don’t want to leave my home. 20) Delusion insanity; Fear insanity It was very bad for awhile, I totally thought I was going crazy, felt like I had no control over anything in my life (control is still an issue here – if I am in total control of a situation I do much better), Was scared that if I could have an anxiety attack like that out of the blue then how do you know you can’t just one day go crazy and kill people or yourself – if I saw something on TV about schizophrenia, I would think that that is going to happen to me and totally obsess about it. 21) Fear observed; Fear others will see her confusion My fear of having to run to the bathroom or fear of fainting is really based on being embarrassed should anyone see it. The attention it would call to you. I also don’t like letting people know about this – am hugely embarrassed to be posting this here especially in a place where I feel I have some credibility, but quite frankly this is my last hope – the next step is allopathic meds. 22) Responsibility There is also a feeling of everyone’s good time is dependant on me and if I have a panic attack or need to leave I’ll be disappointing everyone – so I’d rather just not go. 23) Fear narrow Any situation that I feel trapped in I totally panic, this can be like being trapped in traffic or like being at the dentist. 24) Mind read desires I love love love to read and need to at night before bed. 25) Aversion, inaptitude for business, finance I am pretty smart and fairly well rounded except for business affairs – yuck. I am bad with finances or other business related issues. 26) Timidity I get intimidated by people of authority or who I feel have authority (some members of this board intimidate me.) 27) Fear spiders I hate spiders. 28) Anxiety conscience I have a lot of guilt over this because I avoid sooo many activities – like taking my kids to the zoo – because of it. I feel soo guilty about restricting my kids lives because of my issues. ___________________________________________ Whether this information is analyzed according to physicals, mentals, core delusion, etc., my feeling is that calc-c is the remedy that is consistent with the entire case--eg., "I am very routine oriented and do nothing spontaneously." It also covers the female pain, the diarrhea and the headaches, but most importantly, it covers very well the complaints which are felt to be most limiting--the mental and emotional. Although I would not expect things to change overnight, if calc-c wasn't really moving things along I would next look to other calc salts. I hope this perspective is helpful. |

Dear Barb,
I know we have tried Gels on you once before with only a small improvement, but there was another remedy that I thought might be appropriate, and that is Calc-nit. I know I also discussed Calc with you once before, and it is true the Fear of what others think, the Fear that they will observe something about you is definitely a Calcium issue. But the anxiety, the diarrhoea, the claustrophobia, the agoraphobia, the fear of crowds, etc strongly suggests a Nitricum remedy. This is Scholten's explaination of Calc-nit "They are afraid in situations where other people are enjoying themselves, such as parties, going to the cinema, or a restaurant, or even a hairdresser. The fear can be so intense that they may faint, or hyperventilate, or even have a heart attack. The fears are much worse if there are other people present who may observe them. They are extremely sensitive to what others may think of them. They are especially afraid in situations where alot of people are packed together in a small space, such as in restaurants, lifts, trains and planes. If they can't get out, their fears are even worse. They must be able to escape, to have open space. They afraid that they will make a fool of themselves where others can see them." So one essence of Calc-nit would be "Fear of what others think of their anxiety about their health".

Thanks for all the advice so far.
This is what I am thinking right now - I am planning to go ahead and order in LM1 potencies calc nit, calc carb and carc. These will probably take 2 weeks to arrive in the lm potency. or... I have calc carb available at home in a 30c, 200c and a 1m - I could try one of these now while waiting for the carc and calc nit. Just wondering how this sounds to everyone. Are any of these inimical where if I tried the calc carb first would I not be able to take the calc nit or carc for awhile?? By the way I still encourage further discussion on this and thanks again dear folks

I think calc-nit is a very good idea, and by Scholten's description, fits very well. I've seen two people who responded well to this remedy, and both had characteristics which fit 'between' calc-c and arg-n. Both had the sensitivity to being observed, and fear of situations where there wasn't an escape--even narrow grocery store aisles. This history also fits in a similar way.
One of the clients was quite sensitive to being watched by a boyfriend or others, and also had discomfort with narrow places. She told me she thought the perfect relationship would be where her partner would live about four miles away. (I know, this could be true for many relationships!) I have also seen a person who's done well on calc-c who hated to leave the house because of the anxiety it produced, and feared being stopped at a stoplight because she might just jump out of the car and go crazy in front of all of those present. But who knows, maybe she would have done better with calc-nit! I'm sorry, but I want to respectfully say that although there's a lot that points to carc, and although it's one of my favorite remedies, I do not see it fitting with all aspects of this history. We're not seeing a history of prolonged domination, suppression, etc., nor is there an emphasis on perfectionism or pleasing others. There is a fear when an expectation is present, but from what I read it's not so much about meeting impossible standards. This history is more about the fear of losing control in the presence of others. Personally, I would probably try the calc-nit first at a 30c dose. There's not as much information about calc-nit available, so if it's not a good fit a 30c is not likely to cause a lot of problems, and if it is a good fit you can always go to 200. However, if you're very uncomfortable right now, will have to wait a month for the remedy and don't won't to wait any longer, then calc-c, if not a perfect fit, should at least provide some relief. Thank you for posting your history and allowing us to learn from it. |

Remembering Barb's "adiction" to carbonated drinks, I did a search through 16 reps just for that and only two rubrics came up (probably didn't have soda pop when the older reps were printed!)
Complete-GENERALITIES; FOOD and drinks; carbonated, desires (6) : med., phos., choc., colch., hydrog., ph-ac. Murphy-F; Food; CARBONATED, drinks, desires (3) : Ph-ac., colch., phos. I don't mean to interrupt or interject unwanted information here, just thought it interesting.

Barb,
When you said that it all started with Mono (NWS mono), it adds even more credence to Carc. Carc. is also an ulcerative colitis remedy, and if Ricky says she has cured panic attacks with it...what more can I say? I agree that there is calc in this case, but I would start with carc. By the way, carc. is a 3 in Mind, guilt feelings. Snoopy |
