Dear All,

This is for all the Homoeopaths and Senior students of homoeopathy living in London or around. Please read about the seminar info which I have posted on the classified ads post.

Let us explore his method with an open mind if you are able to come.

I wish I could see him! I have heard of his work I think. Isn't he the one that can prescribe on mentals alone, even in serious pathology, and is able to translate physical sensations into mental symptoms? Correct me if I am wrong.

He published a few booklets a few years ago, following the doctrin MENTAL SYMPTOMS ONLY.
Sankaran junior took his inspiration from Segal in his first book:The Spirit of Homeopathy.

However the way he translates symptoms into rubrics is quite controversial. Some thing a lot is speculation. He looks for Present mental state, Persistent and Predominant symptoms. I'll try to precis a long article I hope correctly.

This is of a child who is constipated.

Fear of falling was used when the child suppressed the urge to let her stool go.

Ailments from anticipation when the girl thinks she will get the same pain from the stool again

Clinging, persons or furniture because in some way she is clinging to her stool. She does cling to Mum and to her dummy

Disturbed averse to - weaning being resisted because breast feeding was comfortable.

Light desires - she forgets her problems (tonsillitis) when watching TV or confronted by new people who offer amusement (light)

Unconsciousness, eyes cannot open because when in a pushchair she gazes off into the distance

The remedy given was Gels.

Sorry if I misinterpreted this in anyway. David I think you would like the way Sehgal looks at things. I just wish London was nearer where I live and easier to get to by Public transport!

Wow.

That goes even beyond what I tend to do in clinic. That is very lateral.

One of my teachers in college, Peter Tuminello, who did the proving of Molybdenum and Rhus glabra, used to prescribe something like this. I remember a video case he showed us of a woman who said she was a healthy as an ox, and he used Delusion sees bulls (Bell). I thought that was radical, but this stuff.....

I REALLY wish I could go now.

hallo Ricky
that sounds phantastic.
It's nearly as good as that one:
Del. childish phantasies.
or:del sick is,--- as everything is only in the mind--so, if we get wrid of the last delusion, there should not remain any single problem.
With Sehgal i rather think of the rubric:
Del. Homeopath is, which can be cured by studying the Organon. Already at the par. 6 there might be a small aha. But coming up as far as par.144 would certainy be an eyeopener.

Sorry guys, but this 'method' sounds verrrrrrrrrry speculative at best.

What happened to taking the patient's words? This sounds very much like one is 'interpreting' the patient's symptoms.......which we're told NOT to do in the Organon.

Or, did I miss something here ?

Lisa - you are correct. It is speculation and is interpretation of the patient's words. That is why it is so controversial. There was someone in my year at college who had studied for 2 years under Sehgal before she came to us. She didn't half go on about it. She did pass our course but I reckon she must have presented her cases the conventional way!!
