Unhappy

Into hospital next week for removal of kidney due to large tumour which has basically stopped the kidney functioning at all
first symptoms only 4 weeks ago, passing blood in urine and terible discomfort for a couple of days when unable to pass water at all.
Prior to that in excellent health.
Have had CT, MRI UV etc - no indication yet as to malignancy or whether cancer has spread
anywhere.

Is there anything I should be taking prior to the operation (arnica 30?) or subsequently
staphysigria to speed up recovery. I shall probably be having chemo as well - at least one dose. I am having a general anaesthetic
and hate how that makes me feel (light-heated and nauseous
Any suggestions for help with any of the above would be gratefully received

Sandi,

You really need to find a competent homeopath to take you through this. Cancer treatment is very difficult, and comes with many built-in side effects and complications...you will need more than just a few generalized "almost specific" remedies. If you do indeed have kidney cancer and you will be undergoing conventional treatment for it, you will need someone skilled to help you survive chemotherapy and get over many of the complications caused by cancer surgeries and other treatments. It takes much more work than just some arnica to help the scars and bruising from the incisions; you need the work on a longer term basis with a homeopath who can take you through each step of the treatment. There may even be a possibility that homeopathy can help you avoid all the traditional therapies--but this is truly something which must be decided after a full consultation with a competent local homeopath.

I am hoping someone on the BB who practices in your area will give you some advice on how to locate a classical prescriber who has experience in treating cancer patients, or may be of use to you him/herself. Hang in there, I'm sure someone will be able to help you with some information soon.

Sandi,

My mother at age 78 had bladder cancer and another cancer of the lymph nodes of unknown origin - not lymphoma and not metastisised from the bladder. She had surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Her oncologist did not think she would make it. He didn't think her heart would survive the chemo and if it did, he did not think her cancer would go into remission.

Our homeopath followed her during the entire time of treatment with a single remedy at a time (a total of three different remedies over the 18 months) and she not only survived, she had very few side affects from chemo. She was a little tired and lost some of her hair. Her cancer has been in remission for over two years now.

So, you see, homeopathy can really help, but you need someone objective (I'm a practicing homeopath, but would not dream of taking care of any serious problems for myself or my family) and someone who practices classical homeopathy.

Best wishes to you and I know you can get through this and feel almost well during the process if you find a good classical homeopath.

hi, ask your homeopath if he is familiar with the cadmiums like cadmium-sulf etc. for chemo therapy. He should know about it if he is the one for you. Also, I do believe that most medicines work best in LM form rather c or x, and best if sucussed at least 2 times before each taking. I feel that hand succussed remedies that are hand sucussed 100 times by the laboratory when origionally prepared are best. I like Natural Health Supply for this reason in Santa Fe, New Mexico. God bless you to get better.

Yes, I like Natural Health Supply, too. They are very potent remedies. However, each homeopath will have whatever he has on hand. It may be possible for the homeopath to order the remedy from NHS if the client insists on it, though. Even more important is getting the correct remedy. It will help regardless of the brand.

Hi Sandi,

I must be blind! I thought you were from the Chicago area and posted some homeopaths from there. It says right at the bottom of your message that you're from London.

I'm sure you'll get some good referrals from London.

Hi Sandi,
If you can find a homoeopath by personal recommendation then that is by far the best way. If you are struggling you could try the Society of Homoeopaths http://www.homeopathy-soh.org/web/pages/homoeopathy.htm
all of their registered members are fully trained and insured etc.
Best wishes
Dave

Thanks everyone for your kind wishes, today has been awful as the tumour has proved to be malignant and in the vena cava, so the kidney has to be removed and the vein cut out/tied off by a vascular surgeon at the same time which is going to be pretty hairy I understand!
I will make contact with a homeopath in my area as soon as I am out of hospital, but they want to operate straight after the weekend, so no time right now - more tests tomorrow and friday - bone scans etc.
I take on board the fact that I will need a constitutional remedy, but in the meantime would like to take something/s to help with a my current night and day terrors (currently swallowing rescue remedy!) and then to antidote the anaesthetic and also to help with the bruising and healing after the (4 hour) operation, I know this is not the way things should be done but hope you can understand my sense of urgency and panic.

Thanks for listening
Sandi
