Just in five to six years time I have develop one kind of Phobia. That is Signature Phobia.
Any time I am signing a cheque or important documents I feel fear that I will do wrong signature and it happens. I have tried several times to overcome this awkward situation. Some time I feel OK and other time It comes back. Can you please suggest some kind of exercise or treatment that can really give me relief. Personally in general I don't have much Phobia of other things. But I feel Fear of Flying, Fear of being alone in lonely deserted place. I always overcome those symptoms. I go on tour by Flying far distances and also go for places where I live alone I always tried to overcome and most of the times I am successful. But this signature Phobia could not be overcome by any method permanently. I am still doing signatures but with fear and occasionally I do wrong signature. Your help will highly be appreciated. I look forward to receiving your early reply |

Can you say how you feel when this happens?
What do you fear about the situation? Doing it wrong? Looking stupid? Do you ever get an impulse to do it wrong? Does this kind of thing happen in other situations? When did it start happening? |

Dear Sayed,
Hoppitt asks some good questions. I would also like to know, what mistake do you make when signing your name? Do you sign someone else's name? Do you misspell your name? Sayed, this really should not be a problem for you, and I'll tell you why: A signature is more like a logo than a word that has to be spelled correctly. Some people's signatures are totally illegible! You can't make heads nor tails out of them! Sometimes it's just the first letter of a name followed by a straight line! Maybe you'd be less nervous if you told yourself, "It doesn't matter what my signature looks like!" Can you write everything perfectly except your signature? Is it that you get an unwanted thought in your head, like, "I'm gonna screw up my signature; I'm gonna screw up my signature..." and you can't clear the thought out of your way? There's a section in the repertory: Mind, thoughts intrude, too weak to keep them off or hold one thought-arsenicum is the only remedy. There's another one: One thought excludes all others-scorpion (only remedy). There's: Thoughts, strange-Arg-n. (3), Cann-i. (3), calc., canth., lyss. (2), stram.(2), sulph., thuja, verat. There's: Thoughts, repetition of-arg-n., mag-m., stram. Do any of these descriptions pertain to you? Maybe the best thing would be for you to tell us a little more about yourself--is there anything else wrong? Sincerely, Snoopy [This message has been edited by Snoopy (edited 27 January 2001).] |

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
Brid as you suggested that I should try Stramonium, what potency? To reply Hoppitt415 I feel some sensation in my tummy and my hand stops for a moment and feeling comes over as if I can not sign correct signature. My signature is not a straight form of words. It is a combination of some round sign and words inscribed differently. I have a feeling of Fear in front of people that I will do wrong signature and that will not be accepted as if I am impersonating of defrauding the Bank. When I am at ease and feeling happy I do accurately without any problem. I can write easily without any problem. What is rightly said by Snoopy that I’m gonna screw up my signature, as a fixed thought. I tried Arsenicum 30 only for few doses. I don’t know should I try higher potency or low potency for a long time. Snoopy can you elaborate more. Thank you Sincerely Sayed |

Hi again Sayed,
As the rest of the case is vital to 'flesh out' the reasoning behind your phobia, my guess is purely that Sayed. However, I see that Stram. doesn't have a fear of flying (in two reps), but that Aconite and Arg-n are there. P'haps your 'phobia' would be better served by Argent. Nit instead, but I still urge you to have your full case taken by an experienced homeopath in your area. ![]() Best of luck Brid |

Dear Sayed,
Arg-n. is a very good idea. I repertorized your case. Thuja had the following: mistakes in writing, thoughts/fears as if arising from the stomach, delusion about to commit a crime, fixed ideas and strange thoughts. Why don't you try a 200 C of Thuja, wait a month, and see if anything at all happens, and get back to us. If nothing happens, Arg-n. is a good possibility, as is stramonium. I'd like to hear the thoughts of others. Sincerely, Snoopy |

I agree with Arg-nit, as they become obsessed with particular ideas, almost foolish ideas of not being able to do something, of something going to happen. The more they think about it , the worse it becomes
However, this is a little one-sided, as I am sure there must be alot more to the case. ------------------ David Kempson Dip.Homoeopathic Medicine Member A.H.A(Australia) |

Dear Members
Brid, Snoopy and David Thank you for your suggestion. I am going to try Arg. Nit 200 and will come back to you after a month. What do you suggest about doses. How many days and doses in a day? Sincerely Sayed |
