Hello Eliat,
Few months back there was discussion on diabetes on this forum but I don't think anyone had a case of insulin-dependent dibetes (your pt takes insulin I believe). So nobody probably used insulinum.
Sorry I can't be of much help.

if the patient is insuline dependent then it is very difficult to get positive reaction in the body from insulinum 200. However few homeopath claim that they have treated few patients with insulinum 200 and they got good response.

I assume that Insulinum is potentialized insulin?

Even without discussing whether insulin can be potentialized, using it for diabetes is obviously not homeopathy. Insulin administered to a healthy person (proving) will produce symptoms OPPOSITE those of diabetes, so Insulinum is not the simillium (sp?) to diabetes.

That said, I would like you to bear in mind that every day your patient lives with an elevated BG, she incurs irreversible health damage . If you are not sure of what you do, you should refer her to someone who is.

Ricky: As long as you make sure your patients (whether insulin dependent or not) have a well-regulated BG, you will do them no harm .

OTOH, if their BG is well-regulated, they will have no long-term effects, so whether you can do them any good might be debated . Lifestyle councelling, diet advice, and general support is always good .

I have insulin dependant patients and I see my job as a homeopath to keep them in good health with a constitutional remedy so that they do not end up with diabetic complications. If a person's blood sugar is so high that they need insulin then this is essential and without it they will eventually die. The best a homeopath can do is to improve the blood sugar so that the patient can reduce the amount of insulin they take. I find that after a constitutional remedy my patients can do this. I have also found that Gymnema (a herb from India) helps the patient who wishes to have the occasional diet lapse. Re Syzygium - this is helpful with non insulin diabetics and also in potency when the symptoms are similar to the remedy provings.
