Today my 5 year old daughter ran out in front of a car and was knocked down. She came off lightly with a fractured ankle and a bad case of shock.

I am in bad shock myself I will ring my homoepath tomorrow, but atm I am stuck. I cannot think straight, and I am not confident about the ideas I have.

I used RR on myself when my husband told me as I nearly fainted.

I have given my husband, my 9 year old son and my 4 year old (who witnessed it) ignatia 30c. I want to give my daughter arnica but I don't want to make anything worse, this is serious stuff. I have 200c's, 30c's and 6c's.

Can S.O. confirm whether this would be right and in which potency. I think she will have bad bruising as my husband said there was quite a thump. The accident happened at 3pm approx. She was given infant parcetemol and then oral morphine at about 5 pm. The morphine was because they had to manipulate the bone when they set it.

As for me I am really shaken up. I keep sobbing when I think of it, I blame myself for not teaching her better or raising her more carefully. Oh and for not being there. I feel I don't want to ever let them out of my sight again.

Also was I right to give the others ignatia?

No a homeoparth as you know but I would definately go for a 30of arnica for your little girl.

I have a 5 year old daughter too and hugged her real tight after I read your post. Please don't beat yourself up about it - you know you taught her not to run in the street and that it would be impossible to be there all the time. We do our best and pray. It seems that she had a gaurdian angel watching over because her injuries were minor. You must've been frightened out of your mind.

Murphy lists:
Mind - Fright - ailments from- accident- sight of: ACON, gels, ign, OP

I would think of aconite if the ignatia wasn't helpful - also, opium is good for if the sight of the accident replays in the mind.

Good luck and you'll be in my thoughts.

Hi debdell,
With much sympathy, I read your post (my older one is 4 1/2 ! Also, I'm just a student, but Aconite for shock is usually a good one in first aid situations. Arnica for bruising and Symphytum for healing the bone later would be my best guess. I'm sure one of the more qualified members here might even suggest another remedy and/or will be able to give you the exact number of doses and the potency. Barb is right. Without guardian angels this could have been worse. Bach Flower Pine works wonders for guilt trips (been there done that).
Good luck to you and your family.
Claudia

Thanks everyone for your kind replies.

I didn't get back last night because my husband fell asleep and computer is in bedroom.

We are all better this morning, the sun is shining. I have given my daughter, arnica 30c now. Thanks Ricky, I needed someone else to tell me straight what to do. She is still in pain but calmer. I gave the little one and my husband a repeat of the ignatia 30c but may now consider opium for my hubby as he keeps replaying the whole thing in his mind.

Pine flower rem sounds like a good idea for us two growns ups, nice and fresh to cut through the negative thinking!

Many thanks again for all your kind thoughts.
Barb , we feel the same that there was definately s.o. watching over her. Thank God.

My husband said he felt the whole week-end something was going to happen, but he thought to him....

Poor old thing

OK - Arnica 30 = 3 doses today and tomorrow should sort your child out. I agree with the Symphytum , potency 6 for a couple of weeks at 3 x a day BUT not until you know that the ankle is set in the correct position.

For yourself I would have gone for Arnica as well for shock. Try the 30 and see if it calms you and if not go for one dose of 200. RR is excellent but only lasts a short while.

Glad all is better now. I would have chosen a dose of Arnica 200, but if 30 works well then fine.

I always wish in this kind of situation I knew more about traditional bone-mending. Plaster of Paris, according to traditional bone-setters is energetically the worst thing for bone-mending because it is energetically cooling and prolongs the time needed to heal. The new type of polymer substance that some hospitals put on bones is far better in that respect.

Your husband showed clearly Clairvoyance and he might need either Aconite or Opium. [Opium tends to affect the bowels - either diarrhoea or constipation]. In an Acon state the patient can feel weak at the knees - all strength in the legs is lost. Since your hubbie thought the accident was going to happen to himself, it is perhaps more likely to be Acon. But only if it becomes a fixed state where a remedy is required.

Smile

Just to let all of you who kindly posted on this know, last night there were a lot more smiley face in our house.

We all slept in the afternoon. I took ignatia in the end and calmed down a lot. My husband did very well on ignatia and Pine flower remedy.

The little injured one woke up from her nap feeling fractious and tearful. I crossed my fingers prayed and gave her a dose of Arnica 200c. She whined for about 5 mins about the pain and then visably cheered up.

She said to me later 'My leg still aches Mummy but I feel happier'. My husband came downstairs to find her laughing and joking and making us all laugh.

So here we all are feeling better
