Past History: My 6yr old son used to get sick frequently due to sinus infections..yellowish greenish discharge, sometimes ear infections..sometimes chest congested with cough. He has allergies. Don't know what he is allergic too.

I tried Pulsatilla 30C as it matched his symptoms. It helped but the problem would come back after few months. This time when he had thick greenish/yello nasal discharge I gave him Puls 30. He was responding. Then I switched him & gave him a single dose of Puls 200C.

I gave him this single dose of Puls 200C on Friday. On saturday, he was complaining that he was not feeling good & may throw up. He did not throw up but looked pale. Yesterday, he has picked up some fever..range of 99deg F. We did not send him school today. His nasal discharge is watery type (no greenish/yellow i.e. better) but he is coughing frequently (dry cough). May be his chest is congested but can't say for sure. No breathing problem. None of these symptoms are new. In general he is active & normal but looking little pale.

The questions which I have are as follows:

1. Is this just an aggravation & the fever & cough should go away within 48hrs or do I need to do something more?

2. Or is it pointing towards another remedy to be given now for fever/cough?

Any guidance will be helpful. Please help.

Thanks for your time.

Shashi - Thank you for your response/help.

Ricky - Did you have any question(s) or was it just a typing error?

Thanks

His fever is same, cough is same, nasal discharge is same (watery, colorless, rarely mixed with greenish discharge).

Question: In case if the fever goes up & have to give Tylenol (Acetominophen) to control it, will it antidote the Pulsatilla?
If it does, is it OK to give him another dose of Puls200C?

Question: How long should be before the fever should come down or be gone on it's own (assuming Puls is working)?

Thanks
Rajan

Talking

Dear Rajan,

now the little patient is not feeling well and looks pale after the 200 potency.Formerly he is well on 30th.

another feature here is ,from nasal discharge now it is cough also.So 200 here done some suppression like process.

so here we can do two things

1)antedote
2)take the present totality and give him a new medicine.

After curing the present state he should take some deep acting remedy for his frequent recurrings.

with regards
pannakkal

Thank you all for the help.

His fever was still hanging around 99deg F, so I gave him Tylenol. I feel guilty/bad for doing this but don't want him to suffer unnecessarily & keep missing school.

His fever is gone but he is still coughing. I hope this cough goes away on it's own soon.

Will the Tylenol completely antidote the Pulsatilla or will it (Puls) still be working? Any ideas based on experience?

Thanks for all the help. Will continue to post health updates.

Update:

He still has fever 99deg F. His cough is little less (frequency & intensity) but his chest is congested. Complains of chest pain while coughing. He is still having greenish nasal discharge.

I am getting a feeling that his fever though low grade is due to infection indicated by the greenish nasal discharge. There is also some kind of viral bug going on here.

Any suggestions on the remedy? May be I was wrong & should have let Puls work. But I am not sure now if the Tylenol has completely antidoted Pulsatilla.

Any suggestions on the next remedy to handle the infection/fever would be appreciated keeping in mind the previous remedy given.

Thanks
Rajan

Treating your own son is not generally recommended because you can't be objective
and in your hurry and worry you are most likely to repeat remedies often or change the corrct one too soon...
That said the way you gave the symptoms are notenough to zero-in on any single remedy.
I suggest that you read atleast the excellent article by David Little on COUGHS
in the list on his web page 'FIRST AID'at http://www.simillibus.com/ to know what kind of symptoms we need to gather to enable us to find a remedy.

Identifying the right remedy is the question:

Symptoms again:
1. Mild cough all day. Doesn't cough while sleeping in night or day.

2. Fever around 99deg F

3. General: No chills, not constipated, normal bowels. Eating normal. Thirst normal. Energy level normal, active. No headache or body pains. Doesn't mind being covered while going to sleep.
Tongue white on the back part, & was like that before the start of the fever. In general healthy, no problems, vaccinated at the regular age requirements. No major illnesses except flu/sinus problems. Normal weight & height, good natured but scared of dark, does not want to be left alone.

The above gives more detailed case history for proper remedy identification.

Thanks for help.
