In the UK, Kingfisher toothpaste is readily available. I've seen it in Sainsbury's, although I get it from my local health food shop (where it's actually cheaper).

There are many non-mint flavours but best of all is that for every flavour they produce a non-fluoride version.

Kingfisher is based in Norwich.

My grandmother uses bicarb of soda . It is abrasive for long enough to clean your teeth and dissolves rather quickly. The taste never bothered me either (she'd have us use it on visits). But, I have to say I do prefer something a bit more tasty .

We have to load up when travelling because we can hardly find any toothpaste where we live that doesn't contain flouride. And, since they put flouride in the water here, and that includes all bottled water where we are, I don't want my children taking in any more than I can avoid. They both already have mottle teeth from it!!!! So, I'm amazed since most water is contaminated with Floride as to why they feel it must be in drinking water. Also, there is no proof that it prevents tooth decay, which could lead to a big rant on why it is even being used at all!

Getting back to the original question. Can mint toothpaste affect homoeopathic treatment? In my experience it CAN in some cases. Several times I have treated someone who did very well on the remedy then suddenly relapsed. We have been able to trace it back to an antidoting factor. Usually coffee but in a couple of instances a revertion back to mint toothpaste. I always suggest avoiding mint toothpaste at the first consultation and keep some mint free (kingfisher) in stock in case they wish to purchase some.

<<I wonder is this subtle and indiscriminate medication/poisoning prevalent in the States and elsewhere? >>

They put floride in the water in most city water systems here in the US. Argue that it's better for the kids. I'm just SO glad that I have a well.
They're even putting floride in kids gum and some juices now. Oh yuk.

I used to use plain baking soda with a drop of pepermint oil in it. I guess you could use another oil if you wanted.

If its possible to make money from peddling poisons and waste products like Alum, Aluminium,Flouride etc by putting them in everything from Toothpaste to deodorants they darn well willand whats more governments encourage it

The flouride additions to water supplies along with the use of Aluminium to treat the same supplies will turn out to be the next world horror after AIDS

Sorry Fistral

I don't have details of stockists. I buy my citrus flavoured toothpaste from Neals Yard Rememdies, who are on the web at www.nealsyardremedies.com Toms of Maine is available at Sainsburys supermarkets, who also have their own website.

I'm afraid I cannot help you any further, other than what I have said above.

Best of luck,
Simone

Does anyone have an opinion on using a very dilute solution of calendula tincture (say three drops to 500ml water) as a regular daily mouthwash?

I know it can be used after extractions etc. but I was thinking more in the way instead of the normal minty ones.

What about using an aftershave that has mint extract??? Also, how long before taking a 200c remedy (1.5 capfull 2 x) does one start to notice an effect?
And how long must you avoid mint?
