Question

Could someone please tell me where Chlamydia fits into the miasmatic picture? A friend has just been diagnosed, she is Nat Mur constitutionally. Would you prescribe Nat Mur or a miasmatic remedy?

What are the symptoms? Character of discharge etc?

I would think NM, if certainly the constitutional, would be the best treatment.

Abnormally long and heavy period, but the most striking symptom is very bad abdominal pains, which leave her doubled up in agony. She has also taken the morning after pill 3 times this year, I know, silly girl...

I wouln't consider calling someone who has taken the morning after pill three times in one year a 'silly girl'. To me, this would lead to some very good symptoms for the constitutional. Why has she needed to take it that often? Impulsiveness, irresponsibility, lack of caring, etc. could make some very good rubrics. It's important to find out what's behind it.

Just some feedback. She took a Nat Mur 1M on Tuesday night, and had a massive aggravation of the abdominal pains and a headache for 24 hours. Last night the pains went and haven't returned since, and this morning her period finished (she's been on for more than 2 weeks). Hurrah for homoeopathy

Dear Kirsty,

Congratulations! How did you know it was nat-m.? For instance, is this a case brought on by grief? I wonder how it affects one's health to take the morning after pill so often. Could this be the cause?

By the way, just as an aside, we really have to be careful with these high potencies in chronic cases. A 200C, a 30C every 3 days, or a 6C three times a day might have eased her more smoothly into health.

The Morning-After-Pill is usually 3 birthcontrol pills taken at once. Kirsty's remark that she was a silly girl was correct!! Indeed she was incredibly foolish to do this!

Conventional OB Gyn's do NOT recommend that this 'method' be used MORE than once in a year's period - and not more than 2 or 3 times in a life span. You can imagine that a Homeopath would never recommend this approach to birth control over a night's passions without protection!

Using this method to avert becoming pregnant alters the whole system - in that it forces the period to start, disrupting the natural process/schedule of menstrual flow!!

So, I'm not the least bit surprised after having done this that Kirsty's friend had a period lasting two weeks, after taking the Morning-After-Pill 3 TIMES in one year! Geeeez, what was she thinking?? Honestly, I'd refer her to a qualified Homeopath to make sure she is properly looked after. Her poor body wasn't sure what the hell was going on and that is why it bled so long!

How about a condom?

Here's hoping the Nat-Mur will reestablish some sense into that girl . And, really can you encourage her to see a Homeopath - to be on the safe side ?

I still think S. Reichsman is onto something about using the information about taking the morning after pill 3 times in a year as a good pointer for a remedy...

Just off the top of my head, I would want to know...why a protection method wasn't used before hand (as in, was she too willing to allow her partner to engage in unprotected sex for fear of "turning him off"?...is there as self-esteem issue which manifests as very risky promiscuity?) Why does this continue to happen, too?

Nat Mur is fine, and it seems to have stopped the bleeding...which may or may not be good, you will have to wait and watch. A remedy I thought about here was Folliculinum--it has this kind of very low self-esteem which is driven to promiscuity (physical love being a desperate substitute for real affection, no matter what kind of repercussions are involved). Lac Caninum has this, too--and both of these remedies look very much like NM. So you will have to do some serious differentiation about the mental/emotional state, as they all have the big physical symptoms you describe.

One more thing about folliculinum--there is a well accepted observation that often a patient will seek out, in crude form, exactly what he or she needs in potentized form...here we have a patient who has taken the equivalent of 3large birth control pill doses of estrogen, 3 times, in the last year. Estrogen in birth control pills is the crude dose form of folliculinum....

have a look:

I did ask her about the morning after pill issue, and it appears she used condoms the last twice and had accidents with them, so apparently she was being responsible.

Snoopy, I treated her for bad headaches with Nat-M last year (I am a student) and it worked a treat; basically I gave her the MM to read and she was highly excited because she felt it was describing her. The guiding rubric was an SRP, she sat in my house and said she needed to pee, but couldn't because she can't do it in public...
