Question

A colleague has been told she is suffering from this Irritable Bladder, after having undergone surgery and had her bladder "untwisted". She has been in constant pain for 3 weeks, urinating all day 24 hours a day, getting very little sleep. I have given Reiki to her which has brought some relief but I wonder if there is any homeopathic remedy for this condition. I look forward to replies. Love and Light, Irene

Hi Irene ,

Has your friend had Arnica after the surgery?

Post more details re the irritable bladder
eg what is the flow like- scanty or profuse ?
What is the colour of the urine- does it smell? Any pain ?
How old is your friend?
Has she been given any pelvic floor exercises ??

Hi,

Yes, she was given arnica after the surgery, but she appears to be in total shock having gone in for corrective surgery and coming out worse 3 weeks later. She was told she would be in pain for a couple of days. She is very angry. She now feels like her bladder is full all the time, and it hurts when she "pees". After Reiki she is much calmer and sleeps a bit better during the night, but otherwise she is in constant discomfort. I don't know about smell, but will ask. Thanks very much, love and light, Irene.

Hoppitt - off the top of my head do you think a dose of Staph 200 may help?

If Staph. doesn't work, consider Causticum.
Causticum is a bladder remedy that has frequency and pain, and the mental symptoms are that the person believes a terrible injustice has taken place; it's similar to Staphysagria.

Thanks everyone. I'd read a report which included a recommendation for Causticum but hadn't heard of it! Irene.

Sorry to take so long getting back- family crisis- may post for some help on that later!

I also thought Staph which is good after bladder surgery anyway.
The other remedy for irritable bladder is Copaiva but until Irene posts more symptoms can't be sure .

Is the pain burning, boring, aching or on beginning or finishing?
Apis,Cantharis, Berberis,Belladona and Sepia
are also remedies used in urinary problems. Can you get to a repetory (either hard copy or on-line?) to see if any of these suit your friend? I agree with Hoppitt, Staph is often indicated after surgery.
