In July, 2000, I was bit by a dog on my left wrist. I had about 5 or 6 puncture wounds. I am a secretary and type about 7 hours per day. I was out of work for 5 weeks immediately following the dog bite. Then returned part time for about 6 weeks. Since I have been back full time, my wrist and arm hurt terribly. I have continued treating with the hand doctor - I had an EMG and nerve conduction study performed and both were negative. I've been on anti-inflammatory medications with no improvement. I sometimes get tingling sensations that go all the way to my elbow. I also do not have much strength in this hand/arm - it hurts if I try to lift anything over a few pounds. Any suggestions???

Yes, you need a single dose [two tablets together, away from food and drink] of Hypericum 200. Regardless of the tests the nerves clearly were affected, and Hypericum will deal with it swiftly.

I bought the hypericum (St. John's Wort) and took as you advised. I took the single dose and waited several days. I did not feel any difference. I have been taking every day for about 2 or 3 weeks now. Arm still aches terribly. The weather seems to make it worse. This pill does not seem to have worked for me. Any other suggestions????

Did you buy Hypericum 200c, the homeopathic medicine, or just St. John's Wort pills, the herbal preparation? They are not the same medicine. It is important that you take the Hypericum remedy for your hand, not the herbal preparation.

Are there any signs of redness which go up your arm as well as the tingling? Does your hand feel cold, while the rest of you is warm? Do you experience any other pains in your hand/joints/arm? Anywhere else, since the bite?

What happened during the incident of the dog bite?

No, I just bought St. John's Wort. Where do I find the Hypericum? Can I buy them in a health food store??? I thought it was the same thing. I'm new to all of this, but after treating with the medical doctor for 7 months and still being in pain with no relief from his treatments and because he told me there was no nerve damage, I decided to give homeopathic treatment a try.

The only "redness" is around the scar areas. There are several puncture wounds that scarred and the scar is still kind of fresh and reddish looking. I do not have any cold/hot feelings as you described. The pain is mainly in my wrist, but when I use my wrist too often or lift something too heavy, the tingling up the arm and shooting pains begin. Sometimes they reach to my elbow, other times all the way to my shoulder. There is ALWAYS a constant pain in the wrist area - even when the hand is not in use. I have to sleep with my hand propped on a pillow.

I was breaking up a dog fight (my own dogs). One dog was fairly new to our family. Apparently they got into a fight over my grandson. My older dog was playing with my grandson and the newer dog thought she was hurting him. They were vicious. The older dog spent 2 days in the hospital. The other dog is no longer in our family. It was my older dog, the one I kept, who actually bit me, but she was intending to bite the other dog, my arm was in the way. Immediately upon being bit, I felt intense pain, all nerves were tingling and throbbing and a burning feeling. It was the worse pain I ever experienced. I literally fell right to the ground crying and screaming. There was also a lot of bleeding. I did not require stitches. The arm was x-rayed, cleansed and put on some type of board and in a sling. It ached ungodly for days afterwards - none of the pain medications worked. I cried day and night and could not sleep. The pain I feel now is nothing compared to the actual attack, but it is annoying and hinders my life style. The doctor said after doing testing that there was no nerve damage, however, said maybe he should operate to see what was going on inside. That is when I stopped seeing the medical doctor. Please let me know where to purchase Hpericum and I will try again. Thanks for your help.

Please be patient with me, as I said, I'm new to all of this.

Ruth,
Make sure when you get the Homeopathic preparation of Hypericum 200c that you ONLY take ONE dose, ONE time and then WAIT.

Report your ANY changes here after taking it - but it is very important NOT to repeat the dose until you've checked here or with a local Homeopath.

Remedies work differently from conventional (allopathic) medicine and we do not dose repeatedly.

Hope you get the remedy soon and get some relief! BTW: an alternative is call 1800 ARNICA 30...that is Homeopathy Overnight - in case you can't find the remedy locally.

Whomever you order from - ask for the smallest vial of the remedy - in pillules. One dose = 3pills .

Hope this helps .
Lisa

I'm so glad Lisa that you mentioned the importance of taking one dose only. Also STOP the St John's Wort immediately.
