Question

If there are any homoeopathic vets reading, please advise on homoeopathic prophylaxis for this epidemic in the UK.

I found this info on F&MD
http://www.maff.gov.uk/animalh/disea...d/leaflet1.htm

I've looked into this further and reckon that Calc Carb is the prophylaxis.

Reasons: Feet, blisters, soles:
calc, ars

MOuth, vesicles, cheek inside: calc, mag-m

And what could be more calc than a dairy cow or an over-producing farm animal?

Thank you friends.

I have been to that page previously but couldn't work out how to access the forum

In fact this time I couldn't work it out again, but I did subscribe to the digest, thanks Ghazi.

Please, how do I access the forum to see what Ricky was referring to about Borax for F&MD? What do I click on, on the main page to which gpm kindly directed me?

Anna, it is an email list - or you can choose to subscribe ONLY to the digest to avoid receiving heaps of emails everyday (as Ghazi suggested). I don't know of a Forum such as the bb. Hope that helps.

Thank you very much Lisa

I mainly am interested to find that reference Ricky mentioned about Borax and F&MD, since friends of mine have a farm with a prize herd.

Anna,
I believe you can do a search in their archives and perhaps you can find it that way. I remember that email that went round, but I didn't save it or I could have just posted it here. I recall it was a very short reply (and from whom, I can't recall, sorry) saying that the remedy is borax. Not much else was mentioned - no details - just the remedy. Hope that helps.

From the Lyghtforce post.

Borax was considered by George MacLeod to be the Similium for Foot and Mouth
(He lived through several outbreaks) and certainly from pictures in Jacques
Jouanny MD's book Yhe Essential of Homeopathic Therapeutics the vesicles
described and pictured are just like those of Foot and Mouth - yet it may
not show up in a full repretorisation when you inlcude vesicles feet (they
occur on all feet) and in sheep they sometimes don't occur at all. The big
danger is that using it as a preventative can lead to a proving with the
symptoms of foot and mouth - resulting in the danger of the herd being
eradicated

EXTREMITIES; ERUPTIONS; blisters (K986, G825): ars., ail., all-c., alum.,

"BORAX - A Veterinary Materia Medic and Clinical Repretory with a materia

The specific action of this chemical on the epithelium of the mouht and its

chief non-biological prophylactic remedy in the control of foot and mouth
disease. "
