My 16mo old had a vaccine 2 days ago - it was her HIB shot and today she developed a fever of 104F. Her pediatrician said it is very rare (though not impossible) that the HIB vaccine caused the high fever, and that there are many viruses going around with high fevers. Sooo I am thinking of giving SIL, since she tends to respond well to puls and I know they are related, SIL is listed as for fevers from vaccines and I believe Anna suggested this as her constitutional before, though she hasn't had it.

Any advice welcome. She is sleeping now, so will wait til morning. She wanted to be held by me all night. Was lethargic and a little whiny, but more pathetic than anything else. No real appetite, did drink okay and enjoyed a popscicle.

HELP...

The little one is sick. We think it is the stomach flu rather than vaccine reaction. She awoke with a fever but some advil helped. After her afternooon nap she had vomited in her bed and had a fever of 103.5F, the fever wouldn't go down. She did drink some fluids, but vomited them all up before bed. She wanted me to hold her all night, was very listless, head kept falling to my chest. Eyes were halfway closed, very droopy eyelids. Her urine seemed to have a strong odor. Her fever is dry - no sweating.

The doctor said the stomach flu is going around with high fevers that last 3-5 days.

Don't be fooled. The doctors will never admit to a vaccine reaction. This is a classic vaccine reaction, one that I in fact had as a baby, and the result was a life-time of serious asthma.

Give her Gels 200 to begin with, and keep a close eye on her. The "floppy-baby" syndrome is well known to the anti-vaccination lobby. Also consider Opium as well if Gels does not help.

Barb, I cannot be 100% whether this is flu or vaccine reaction, but I think it very likely that it is vaccine reaction.

For this reason I advise that you give Silica 200 one dose now.

Murphy's nearest rubrics are:

Vaccinations - fever, [with backache and headache] Sil

Vaccinations nausea, from Sil

Given that I saw silica in her case previously I think there are strong indications for it all round.

Report back and I will check my mail/bb later today. Webmail is safest at the moment, since server trouble persists.

Thumbs up

ps If I had not seen the case before I would think Gels a very good idea, but since I had seen Silica in the child previously and now this reaction has occurred, I think Sil is needed to eliminate the toxins - to get to the heart of the problem.

Barb, I have been wondering how things are with you. If you don't have any silica, you could try a dose of Thuja LM1 which I think you have by you.

Unhappy

Her fever was down a bit this morning and her spirits were up, but after her morning nap her fever was gone, this is when I gave a dose of sil30c, a little while after she became very disturbed, obviously in pain, crying a lot - wanting and pointing to something and then the next minute pushing it away. Wanting to be held - but at the same time pushing me away. extremely fussy, this is not like her. I didn't know what to do and I gave a dose of cham 30c. She quited down a little while later (I also gave her motrin, so who knows?) She did have diarrhea shortly thereafter. Stool was slimy and a dark brown/green.
