Question

What are people's thoughts on using Shiatsu for a physical complaint, separate from the complaints (physical and others) being treated by homoeopathy?

The Shiatsu treatments are taken outside a seven (7) day period either side of taking a remedy?

I don't think that shiatsu and homeopathic tratments interfere each other in the negative sense. They should support each other in the healing process. However, if you have shiatsu and hom. treatments too close, it would be hard to differentiate the results. Shiatsu works on the meridians and does effect a change on the energetic level, never just on the phyical level.

I use shiatsu treatments regularly--I am very lucky to have a skilled shiatsu massage therapist in my family!! I just make sure that the treatments don't take place too closely to dosing.

It has helped to get me out of some particularly painful aggravations in the past. I find it is far less aggressive and painful than chiropractic. But it also works in a way that is similar to homeopathy--it can stir up all kinds of mental/emotional stuff while fixing the physicals. I guess that is what good medicine is meant to do...

Thanks Arden and Divina. That's what I thought.

I did not want to use a chiropractor or an osteopath as I had heard some adverse reports. I am sure there are good ones out there, but I was recommended to a shiatsu therapist and she is very gentle, but I did want to check it was okay.

Thanks again.

Pseudonaja,

I can't help but wonder about the meaning of your name...it makes me think of faux cobra print fabric... (pseudo=not really or faux; naja=cobra; testilis=fabric)

? Am I close? If so, I love it!

Good guess, but not quite. It is the Latin genus name for a snake and, yes, the first part does mean faux cobra.

I had been using the name for a long time before I realised I was slightly confused and was looking at Pseudechis Australis.

What is a pseudechis australis, then?

(I have been fascinated by snakes all my life--is this you, too?)

Psuedonaja Textilis is the common brown or Mulga snake and Psuedechis Australis is the King Brown snake.

Both are from Australia and I am of the belief that if their venoms had been in homoeopathy, I would have healed quicker.

To be honest, I fear snakes, but thanks to them I am well on the way to good health.

Well, Pseudonaja T, I owe quite a bit to them too!

How wonderful to hear you are getting better. If you take up the study of homeopathy yourself one day, maybe you will be the one to conduct the provings on these substances! If you do, count me in as a supporter--and please send me the info (I've got a little project going on that would benefit greatly!)
All the best,
Divina
