Dr MAS,

where is that in the organon? If it is there, why is it not part of traditional homoeopathic training/treatment? I don't remember ever seeing it.

dr MAS,
Also tell us who wrote the Organon U are talking about? At least what U are talking about is not in Hahnemann's Organon.

I think Dr. Mas has been reading Rudy Verspoor's book on sequential therapy/a new translation and understanding of the Organon. What is perceived as a choice to use remedy combinations is really just a translation interpretation.

The sixth Organon, Wenda Brewster O'Reilly's work which Stephen Decker translated, doesn't "include" this combination choice, and I bet Samuel H. may have played with the idea before refuting it all together in his 6th Organon. If HE dropped it, that's reason enough for me to believe they don't work. Just to round that out, I've had my own quite painful experiences with combo remedies in the past. They're just not effective and they are just not necessary.

Organon 272 5th edition and Organon 273 6th editon gives information about single v combination remedies. Isn't Organon 169 about using intercurrent remedies?

Hahnemann's Organon does not permit using mixtures or combinations.

In a given case, we may use different remedies singly at different times in accordance with the totality of the symptoms then prevailing and this cannot be termed as using combinations. For example, Rhus may need Bryonia or some other suitable remedies to complete its favourable action in a case of rheumatism.

In Aphorism # 273, Hahnemann categorically prohibits dispensation of "mixtures" and "combinations". However, naturally occurring combinations such as Causticum, Nat Sulph, etc., are exceptions and for good reason.
